Is it a guy thing?

Isn't it funny how guy's seem to have an inherent talent for car stuff? Like my dad can drive down the road and tell you the make, model, and year of most cars. Now make and model I can understand, but year?! Really, some guys can just see the tiny difference in a car from one year to the next and recognize the year. It amazes me. I couldn't even tell you what a carburetor does or what a Chevy grille is, but guys just seem to naturally know this stuff. Do they go to some secret guy's only car class as kids? Or is it just a gender thing, like how women know that peach, coral, and salmon are not the same paint color?

I wouldn't say it's just a guy thing. I know plenty of guys that don't have a clue when it comes to cars and girls who know quite a bit.

My husband took a small engine repair class in high school and the rest I think he learned from his dad and just reading about it. Even with that, he still blows me away with how much he knows.
