Tuesday To-Do

Today I am still working on getting the house cleaned up from Christmas.

* Undecorate tree
* Clean up family room
* Vacuum
* Sweep kitchen

Mostly I want to get the tree undecorated so the boys can play in the living room again. I also might be going with my sister to look at wedding dresses. Yep, my little sister is getting married! Hard to believe. So that should be fun. Hopefully my hungry little chunker will let me put him down for a bit so I can get started. He just fell asleep so I'm going to see if I can put him down now.

Monday Madness

Today I began the post-holiday cleanup. We left for Idaho Christmas day and didn't really clean up anything before we left, so it was all waiting for us when we got home. So I've been putting away toys and things as well as unpacking from our trip. Tomorrow we are going to undecorate the tree. It's pretty dry and shedding needles all over so it will be nice to get that out of our living room and allow the boys to play in there again.

We got a lot of snow this last week so Hubby had to shovel the driveway last night so he could get the car out for work today, and today he finished the rest of the driveway and the sidewalk. I let the boys play out in the snow today and they had fun. We have some drifts that are as tall as they are.

The boys have been really good today. Mostly they have been in the playroom enjoying their new toys. It's really nice when they play well together and don't make too much mess.

Tomorrow I'm going to try to get pics uploaded so I can post about our wonderful Christmas.

Practical

I was thinking of everything we got this Christmas and realized that this is the first year that I haven't gotten Hubby silk ties. I swear every year he's gotten at least one tie. I think I finally realized that he has about 20 ties and wears only 3 of them lol. I got him mostly practical gifts that he actually needed. Stuff like a new electric toothbrush, base for his shaver, and wallet. Not very exciting, I know, but he really did need all those things. Once I get pictures uploaded (not tonight, it's late and I'm too tired) I'll post some pics of our Christmas and the great presents Hubby got me.

Movie time

Yesterday, while at the inlaw's house, we were watching movies. We had to find a TV/DVD player combo that worked since they had some that weren't working. There isn't a TV stand in their family room so we were using an old TV and a piano bench as tv stands and balancing the VCR and DVD player on the TV. Finally they got it working and we got to watch movies. We got them Hoodwinked and Wall-E for Christmas so we watched both of those. We actually watched Wall-E 2-3 times while we were there because the boys love it. Good thing we bought it for ourselves too. :)

Post-holiday sales

One thing I love about the holidays is the sales they always have afterwards. It's a great time to stock up on stuff for the next holiday. Like wrapping paper. Last year after Christmas we bought wrapping paper that was on sale for like 50 cents a roll. Of course we are out of town this weekend, but hopefully Monday there will still be some good Christmas stuff for sale. I might actually get some decorations like place mats and stuff. I love Christmas decorations but we've never really gotten much besides the lights.

Checking in

We had quite the adventure getting up to the inlaws but that will have to wait for another post. Right now I'm busy catching up on emails and stuff. I wish I'd brought my own laptop computer but at least SIL's laptop is the same kind as ours. I just hate not having my links all available so it's a pain trying to get to all my regular sites. Oh well, I'm not going to worry about it tonight. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope you all enjoy spending time with your family and friends. Be safe if you are traveling.

We spent Christmas Eve with my family eating, watching Muppet Christmas, playing games, and opening some presents. It was a fun night and I laughed a lot. The boys got plenty worn out so I hope they sleep great.

I can't wait to watch the boys open presents in the morning. So much fun! After we open presents we are packing and heading up to Idaho for the weekend. I'm not looking forward to the trip because Nathan hates being in the car seat, hopefully he does ok.

Well, it is time for me to head to bed. The stocking are full, presents placed under the tree, and the boys are sleeping peacefully. Merry Christmas!

Tuesday To-Do

Today's to-do list is going to be short. For one, our house isn't that messy right now and Hubby already vacuumed for me and promised to do dishes. And two, it's almost Christmas so I'm giving myself a break to do some Christmas-y stuff.

* Put away some laundry
* Frost sugar cookies with the boys
* Wrap presents
* Make PJ pants for the boys

See, the only real chore I've given myself is to get the laundry folded and put away since I have 3 loads just sitting in piles waiting. Once Jakey wakes up from his nap we will frost cookies. Then I will measure the boys and see if I have some good material to make their PJ pants. That will be their Christmas Eve gift. Then after the boys go to bed I plan to get Christmas presents wrapped. I love wrapping presents.

Winter Wonderland

I'm so glad I don't have many places to go lately. Not only is it harder to go anywhere with 3 kids but add in the snow and it is just too much hassle. I try not to go anywhere alone with the kids. It is much easier when I have Hubby or my sister with us. Of course I'm glad we haven't had snow or ice as bad as some are having. It seems like the whole country is being pounded by winter storms. Even places like Las Vegas and LA have gotten snow. And their are the many people still without power after the ice storms in the Northeast. So I am happy we have had pretty mild weather comparatively. But I still don't like the cold. :)

Monday Madness

It is snowing outside but we have nowhere to go right now, so I'm just staying warm inside and watching the snow come down. I am planning to make some sugar cookies for the boys to frost today, I just need to check if I have all the ingredients. And then we may go see Christmas lights at Temple Square tonight. I also might wrap presents today. Should be a lovely winter day.

I am so excited that Christmas is just 3 days away! I love watching my boys open presents and seeing what surprises Hubby got for me. And I am excited for it to be over too, lol. It is a stressful time with all the presents, traveling, etc. So I am always happy to see it come and go.

Sunday Saying

"From a commercial point of view, if Christmas did not exist it would be necessary to invent it."
- Katharine Whitehorn

Have you been in the stores in the last few days? It is crazy! We went grocery shopping yesterday and also picked up a few last minute Christmas stuff and the stores were so busy. I guess most people are like us and wait until it's almost too late to get their Christmas stuff. Every year I promise myself that I am going to start my Christmas shopping early but we never do.

How are you all doing with your Christmas preparations? Done? Scrambling for those last minute gifts? Not even started?

One Month

The last month has passed by sooo quickly! It's been quite an adjustment going from 2 kids to 3, but it feels like we are getting the hang of it. Nathan is a pretty good baby most of the time, though he does have days that he is more fussy. He wakes up about every 2 hours at night to eat, but I sometimes get lucky and he'll sleep 3 hours.

Hubby is a big help too, he sometimes will take the baby for a few hours so I can go to bed without him, and then just bring him to me when he wakes up. I love watching Hubby with Nathan, it is so sweet.

And the boys have done so well with him. Jakey always runs to get the binky any time Nathan fusses (although Nathan does not appreciate the binky being shoved in his face lol) and they love to hold him and check on him. The only thing that is really hard is when Jason and Jakey are getting into things and making messes while I nurse and I can't get up to do anything about it.

It makes me sad that the time is passing so quickly because I am really enjoying the baby time. I love that I can put Nathan down somewhere and leave the room and he's still in the same spot and hasn't destroyed the room when I get back lol. This baby stage is much easier than 2-4 years old. :) Cuddling with my little guy is so sweet. In the morning when he is awake and happy is the best time. And when he is tired and snuggles to sleep on my chest I don't want to put him down. He is almost smiling, not quite there but almost.

Being a mom is exhausting and I lose my patience much too often, but when I'm holding my sweet sleeping baby and he gives a little dream giggle, I know it is all worth it.

Tuesday To-Do

Alright, here are a few things that I need to do some time in the near future:

* Clean family room
* Vacuum
* Dishes
* A few loads of laundry and folding
* Sweep and mop kitchen
* Take out garbage
* Finish Christmas shopping

Mostly today I just want to get the family room cleaned up and some laundry done. If I get anything else done that would be great. We are almost all done with Christmas shopping, and I think when Hubby gets home tonight I'll go to the store to shop for him. First though I'm going to nurse the baby and try to get a nap.

Want to run

Boy, I really can't wait to be able to exercise again. I've felt fine for a few weeks, but I know trying to do too much too soon, especially after a c-section, can make me feel worse. I just want to be able to go running or something, work off this baby fat since I can't take a weight loss pill or something while nursing. I want to run a 10k next year, but really need to work on getting back in shape if I expect to be able to do that. Doesn't help that it's winter now so I can't exercise outside. Well, I could, but I don't want to, makes my lungs hurt. So I need to find somewhere I can go to run. For now I'm thinking I'll get out my postnatal yoga DVD and start with that.

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Yep, one year older. Yesterday was my birthday and I turned 25. My little sister came over to watch Jason and Jakey while Hubby took me out to dinner and a movie. We ended up leaving later than planned since we were waiting for someone who said they might buy our old TV, but they never even showed or called. So we were out much later than I like and I didn't get to sleep until 1am or so. We went to Olive Garden for dinner. Yummy. Then we went to see Twilight. I have to admit I was not impressed with the movie. It could have been so much better. Edward looked like he was about to throw up the whole time and Bella was just too nervous and shaky. I did enjoy some parts, the second half was better than the first, but overall I thought it wasn't that well done. Hopefully the next one will be better.

Anyway, I have a chiropractor appointment this morning so I need to get the boys ready to go. Baby is fussing at me. Have a great day!

Blessed

On Sunday we had Nathan's baby blessing at church. Hubby picked out a cute little white tux for him to wear. It was a little big. OK, a lot big- I had to pin up the pants almost in half and he was drowning in the jacket- but it was still adorable. :) Afterward we had the family and friends who came come over to our house for a little luncheon. It was a very nice day.

Just 2 more weeks to shop

So Christmas is in just a little over 2 weeks and we have not done any Christmas shopping. We always wait till last minute. It shouldn't be hard this year since we don't really have a lot of money to spend, so nobody is getting much lol. Jason needs some new clothes. Jakey doesn't really need anything but I'll think of something to get him, I was thinking of getting Wall-E. And Nathan obviously doesn't need much since he's just a baby but I was thinking of getting a new baby swing since the one we have is borrowed from a friend and will have to be returned at some point. Then for stockings I want to get Jason and Jakey some new coloring books and stuff. I would like to get them each personalized baby gifts like those storybooks that you can get made with their name in them, but we'll see. I've got a few ideas for what to get Hubby but no idea what I want. Since my birthday is this week I've already told him what I want for that and don't know what else to ask for. He always comes up with good presents though, so I'm not worried, I just hope he doesn't spend too much.

Tuesday To-Do

OK, I've already got a start on a few things I need to do today, but here's my list:

* Dishes- one load running already
* Laundry- also started a load
* Clean up family room
* Vacuum
* Sweep kitchen Done, though I will have to do it again since the boys just ate lunch and think it goes on the floor

I think that's all that I really need to do today. We had company over Sunday so we got a lot of cleaning done before that so the house isn't too bad. Mostly I need to get laundry done cuz I'm pretty much down to wearing PJs. Good thing I have nowhere to go anyway, so I can get away with not looking my best lol.

Monday Madness

Wow, time is just slipping by so quickly. It's not like me to not post for 5 days! I've been busy with the baby and the craziness of the holidays.

Friday Hubby and I (and Nathan) went to Hubby's work Christmas party. It was fun and Nathan was good for most of it, just got fussy a little and when it was time to leave he was screaming.

Saturday Hubby went and picked out our Christmas tree (I let him do it alone cuz he always picks such nice ones) and we decorated it yesterday. It was funny watching the boys decorate the tree, they kept just clumping things together on the bottom branches. We let them do it as they pleased and then we just evened it out later.

We also had Nathan's baby blessing at church yesterday so we had lots of family and friends over. We came home and ate and chatted after. It was good to see everyone. Nathan looked so cute dressed in his little white tux that Hubby picked out. I will have to post a picture sometime.

Agh, I just realized I still haven't posted Halloween pictures either lol. Kind of got distracted by having a baby lol. I may or may not ever get them posted.

What I do

I think Nathan must be having a little growth spurt. The past few days he has been awake more and wanting to eat ALL the time. That's part of the reason I haven't gotten much done lately. The other part is that when he is asleep I want to finally just do something relaxing without having to hold him lol. Like read a book. I'm re-reading the Twilight books, just started New Moon today. I had to borrow my sister-in-law's books since I lent mine to a friend and keep forgetting to get them back. These books are hard to put down once you get started! Time just slips away. So I didn't get much done today again. Actually, I think I'm going to go work on the playroom now while I'm taking a break from my book. I need to at least feel like I did something to keep my house from falling apart lol.

Getting it done

OK, I am determined to get more done today than I did yesterday. I already did a load of dishes, including washing the pans by hand (I normally leave the pans for Hubby lol). I told the boys they are grounded from the playroom until it is cleaned up, so at least they won't be making an even bigger mess down there before I can get to it. Jakey helped clean up some chips he dumped out on the floor. So far we are in good mood's so hopefully the boys will be helpful today. Little Nathan is gassy and fussy so I have to just try to get stuff done in between feeding and holding him.

Now, let's see how well I do today.

Unproductive

Boy, it really feels later than 9:30. I need to make myself get to bed earlier. Everyone but me and my sister are asleep already. I just wish I could fall asleep as easily and deeply and Hubby and Jason.

I hope I feel more rested tomorrow so I can get more of my to-do list done. I really want to get the playroom and office cleaned up. It looks like a bomb went off down there. I'm tempted to just throw away all the toys. The boys don't really play with them, just dump them out all over the place, then it is such a mess there is no room to play anyway.

Oh well, I am going to bed now and not going to think about all I didn't get done. :P

Really need a nap

Well, I did get a load of dishes done today. So far that's it. I'm hoping when Hubby gets home he'll help me clean up the family room. Jason and Jakey have been driving me crazy today. Making messes and disobeying and just not listening. And of course the usually do it while I'm busy nursing so I can't get up to do anything about it. Good thing they are so cute and I have an adorable baby that I can look at and cuddle to calm down. :) Now I need to go get dinner going. I think I'll make french toast, that sounds yummy.

Tuesday To-Do

I have so many things I really need to do, now if I just had the energy...

* Dishes
* Sweep/mop kitchen
* Clean bathrooms
* Clean family room/vacuum
* Fold laundry
* Clean playroom
* Clean office/storage room

Obviously I have a lot of stuff that I need to clean, but I have been pretty busy and just can't keep up with everything right now. I am so tired and when I'm not busy feeding the baby or getting him to sleep I just want to lay down and rest. I really need to at least do dishes today so we have clean stuff to eat on, and it would be helpful to get the laundry put away so I can find clothes easier. So those are what I'm going to start with today and I'll see if I get to anything else after that.

Monday, December 01, 2008

Monday Madness

Wow, I didn't even realize how late it is. It's past 9 and the boys are still up. Nathan's been awake a lot more today which means I didn't get much done. I also had my 2 week checkup today which took up the whole afternoon when he did sleep lol. And remind me never to schedule an appointment all the way across town during rush hour. It was awful driving home, took an hour. So I'm tired and my house is a disaster and I really need to head to bed. Hubby is out back with a neighbor trying to figure out why our patio breaker is shorted out but I wish he was in here helping me with the boys so I could get them to bed and let me take a bath.

Orchard

I wish we had fruit trees. I love fresh peaches, apricots, apples, etc. Unfortunately we don't really have room for a fruit tree. I'm jealous of some friends I have that live further south that can grow oranges and bananas and stuff. They can have lots of fruit trees like Persimmon trees and other yummy stuff. One friend was mentioning that she got a tree called an Orchard Tree, and it grows four different fruits on one tree. I think that is awesome. I would love to have one of those trees, though I'm not sure on how that really works. How do you create a tree that can grow different fruits? Anyway, one of these days hopefully we will have a fruit tree in our yard.

Busy Busy

Boy, it's been a busy weekend! We had a great Thanksgiving. Then Hubby's family came down for the weekend. They got here Friday and left today. So we have been pretty busy. I am exhausted. I made a big turkey dinner tonight and it was yummy. Yes, we just had Thanksgiving, but because it wasn't at our house we didn't have any good leftovers, so every year we always make our own mini-Thanksgiving on a Sunday around the holiday so that we have lots of turkey to store in the freezer and leftovers to munch on for the week. Of course it's nowhere near as good as the dinner we had at my parent's house, but at least we have some good leftovers.

Tomorrow I have a checkup to make sure my incision is looking good and all that. Oh yeah, and Nathan had his 2 week checkup on Friday. He's up to 9lb 11oz and 21.5". He's healthy and doing great. Hard to believe he's already 2.5 weeks old.

Anyway, I better head to bed. I am so tired and Nathan wakes up every 2-3 hours to eat so I really need to get to bed sooner these days.

Sunday Saying

"Sons are the anchors of a mother's life."
- Sophocles

I feel so blessed to have my three adorable little boys. Sure, Jason and Jakey drive me crazy most days, but they are also so sweet and loving. And they adore their little brother. Every time Nathan cries Jakey yells, "Oh, he's fussy, needs his binky!" and goes running for his binky to help him feel better. They both love to hold him and want to know what he's doing all the time. It is so cute. I'm sure I'll be feeling insane when Nathan gets old enough to join in the mess-making with his brothers, but hopefully they will still always be sweet enough to make up for it. :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! What are your plans for the day? We are going to my parent's house. I am so excited! I love Thanksgiving there because the food is sooo yummy! My mom makes the most delicious stuffing ever. Seriously, I have never had better tasting stuffing. And her turkey is always so nice and tender and juicy and full of flavor. Top that with my dad's delicious turkey gravy made from scratch. Mmmm, my mouth is already watering! And there's the mashed potatoes, rolls, cranberry fluff (soooo good!) and all the other great foods.

Right now Hubby and I are watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Big balloons, dancing, bands, sparkly stuff. Lots of fun. And of course later there will be some football watching going on. I don't know if anyone in my family is going to go play football today. Normally the guys go play football, but usually someone gets hurt too, and I don't know if they plan to do it this year.

So what is everyone else up to today? I hope you all enjoy the holiday and have a safe, happy time!

Biggest Loser?

So, today was the final weigh-in for the biggest loser competition at Hubby's work. He has worked so hard the last few months losing weight, and to try cutting a few extra pounds the last 24 hours he resorted to methods that fighters use before weighing in. He actually dropped 8 pounds in 24hrs, basically in water weight and not eating. He lost a grand total of 37 pounds, or around 21 1/2%, which is a ton for him.

Unfortunately it wasn't enough to win, but he did come in 3rd. The 1st and 2nd place people lost 22.4% and 22.3%, so he was very close. And the other contestants weren't even close behind him. Too bad only 1st place gets a prize. He worked so hard and I am very proud of him. He is so happy to finally get to stop dieting and exercising so much. He actually needs to gain back a little weight cuz he lost more than is healthy for him.

Love you honey, way to go!

My Excuse

This is why I don't get much done around the house lately. Can you blame me? I just want to cuddle him and kiss his soft, squishy cheeks. He is way too adorable :D When he's awake and just staring in my eyes I just want to hold him forever and tell him how much I love him and how cute he is. And when he's asleep looking so peaceful and sweet, I want to just hold his tiny perfect hands and caress his little nose and soft hair. Who could resist such cuteness?!

Tuesday To-Do

My list of things to do today:

* Cuddle baby
* Feed baby
* Change diapers
* Repeat

So, my days are pretty much full of nursing, rocking, changing, etc. Occasionally I get around to doing a load of dishes or picking up the family room or getting a load or two of laundry done, but mostly I sit with my little baby in my arms for large portions of the day. Nathan has had a diaper rash for the last few days that makes him fussy, but overall he is still very easy-going.

Thankful Thursday

I am grateful for my cute little boy who is a week old today. He is so adorable and I just love stroking his soft hair and smooth cheeks, and cuddling his warm little body. Even though I feel like I've been hit by a truck and I need some serious sleep, I am thankful that he is finally here.

I am also thankful for my Hubby who works so hard for us. And I love watching him hold the baby, it is so sweet. Jason and Jakey are doing great with Nathan too and I'm happy about that.

What are you thankful for?

Update on my loser

Hubby is so excited. His biggest loser competition at work is almost over. Just 10 more days and he can go back to eating regular food all the time. He has managed to lose around 25lbs without even using diet pills. We are hoping he can drop a few more before the big weigh in day. We could really use the winning money, especially since the baby bills might be just a little more than we had planned, since c-sections cost more. We have no idea who is in the lead or what amount of weight he needs to lose to win at this point, we are just hoping for the best.

Home Again!

Well, when we left here Wednesday night I was planning on being home again within a day. That got completely changed and now 4 days later we are finally back! Boy, it's been a crazy weekend. It's nice to be in our own home again with no nurses and doctors coming in and out all the time, hopefully I can get some sleep now. I had to come home and turn on the heater right away though, it got cold here with nobody home for days. Plus now we have a baby in the house so we need to keep it warmer. Hubby usually turns the thermostat down a few degrees more than I like, but gotta keep it warmer for Nathan. Maybe we'll just get some portable fans for Hubby so he won't complain about it being too hot. I am excited to crawl into my own bed tonight, though sad that my bed doesn't have buttons to push to sit up and lay down, cuz it's hard for me to do that myself right now.

Post-baby weight

You know one thing that works better than weight loss pills for losing weight? Having a baby lol. I've lost 14 pounds in less than 4 days, pretty good huh? I hope the rest of the baby weight comes off quickly. I can't wait to be back in normal clothes again. Of course it'll be a while before the jelly-belly goes down. I can't remember how long it took with my other two, but I know it wasn't too long.

Slow market

We recently decided to sale our old 50" plasma TV. Hubby was able to get it working again, though it still sometimes has a problem turning on, and we don't really need it. So we figured we could sale it and use the money to pay baby bills. Unfortunately we haven't had a buyer yet. We've had some people who were interested, one even wanted pics of the connection area where the HDMI cables and plugins and stuff go in, and we thought he was going to buy it, but he never got back to us. We've had offers, but much less than we are willing to sale it for. Luckily Hubby has a friend who's willing to buy it if we still have it by the time they sale their TV.

More pictures :D

I just wanted to post a few more pics of our new little cutie. I just love looking at him and cuddling him. When the boys came to visit the other day Jakey kept wanting to hold him, it was so cute. So I got a few pics of me with my boys, though they were tired and a little whiney at the time. Anyway, here you go :)

Isn't that the sweetest little face?!

Jakey would have held him all night if we'd let him

Me with my boys

The whole family (the boys had had enough of pictures by this time lol)

Going Home

We are going to be leaving the hospital today. We are still waiting to have baby Nathan circumsized, but soon after that we will be returning home. It seems the last few days have just flown by. I didn't even realize it was Sunday today until Hubby reminded me. I also still need to get my staples out. I definitely don't want to go home with them still stuck in my stomach. It also may take a little while for me to get used to being home with two other kids and the newborn. My family is going to take our two other boys for another day and Hubby took Monday off from work so that will make the transition a little easier. Here's hoping the transition home from the hospital goes a lot smoother than the transition to the hospital.

Saturday, November 15, 2008

Our stay is almost over

So, I have an uncle who is a nurse but I never paid attention to what hospital he worked at. Turns out he works here at the hospital I'm at right now lol. He stopped by to see us yesterday and just barely stopped by again. Kind of fun. :) I think the only other visitor we had today was my cousin Amanda. The rest of the day it's just been me, Hubby, and Nathan. It's been quiet and boring.

I'm a bit nervous to go home tomorrow and have to worry about the kids and house and feeding myself lol. I'm sure I'll get the hang of things quickly enough, it's just the transition to mommy of 3 is a bit scary. Hopefully it goes smoothly and we all get used to the new addition without too much trouble.

I better go to bed now. I'm tired and my eyes won't stay open, plus my feet are swelling a bit so I need to put them up and rest. Good night!

In my head

For some reason being at the computer for too long makes me feel sick. I get a headache and get really sleepy. I don't know if it's from the meds I'm on or the lcd monitor type screen or what, but I just can't look at the screen for too long. So I haven't been able to be on the computer as much as usual, even though I have plenty of time sitting here. If I look at the screen more than a few minutes I start dozing off and getting light headed. It only happens when I'm at the computer, I can sit and watch TV with no problem, so I'm not sure what causes it. Any ideas?

Rest

Boy, I am still so exhausted! It's amazing how little rest you get in a hospital lol. Nurses and doctors constantly in and out to check on us. But we'll be going home tomorrow sometime, and I'm sure I won't get any more rest there. :) At least here Nate can just keep an eye on the baby and I can try to nap between nurse visits. The food isn't the best, but at least I don't have to make it. Overall, our stay here has been nice. The doctors and nurses are all so helpful and nice. I would definitely have a baby here again for the great care they've given us.

Anyway, I am going to try napping for a bit while Nathan is asleep and Hubby is going out to get himself something to eat.

Introducing Nathan Joshua!

So, as I posted, labor kind of started Tuesday. I had contractions most of the day, then they got to be 3-4 minutes apart from around 5pm to 3am Wednesday. I was able to get a little rest and they spaced out. Around 6am Wed they pretty much fizzled out so we went on a long walk and things started again around 10:30am. I labored the whole day with them varying from 2-11 minutes but getting stronger. I finally called my midwife at 9pm and let her know what was going on and she said we could go ahead and go to the birth center when we felt like it.

So at 10pm we got to the birth center. I labored a lot in the tub, and things were very peaceful for the next 6 hours or so. The boys and Hubby slept for a while and my mom and sisters were there and slept off and on. I finally hit transition and the pushing stage and things became more painful than I remember it being with Jakey. I pushed from about 6:15 to 8 with little progress and increasing pain. No matter what we tried (and we tried just about everything the midwife could think of) he was not coming down past a certain point. I could barely even move my left leg because something was hitting the nerve and causing stabbing pain in it.

Finally a little after 8am Thursday we all talked and decided that there was nothing more we could do at the birth center, I was too exhausted and in too much pain to go any further, so we decided to transfer to the hospital. That was the most painful car ride I've ever been on. My dad drove because he can drive fast and crazy without hurting anyone lol. He broke pretty much every traffic law written getting us there as fast as he could, running lights, driving on the sidewalk, etc. Luckily I was too busy screaming in pain in the backseat to pay attention to the driving lol, or I would have been afraid for my life. My midwife was back there with me calling ahead to the hospital so they would have everything ready for us.

We got to the hospital around 8:45am, and Hubby ran through the halls with me screaming in a wheelchair. They quickly got me into a room and started checking the baby and getting me an IV and there were tons of people rushing around while I was moaning and screaming in pain. They were very worried about the baby's heart rate and said we had to do a c-section right away. They could have done a spinal but they said it would be best to put me under general anesthesia. I was in so much pain I was practically begging them to just do it fast. I was actually grateful they were doing the general because I just wanted the pain to stop asap. So they are getting me all ready and next thing I remember is waking up in a recovery room.

The c-section went well. Nathan was born at 8:57am Thursday weighing 9lbs 3.8oz and 21.25 in. We found out that his arm had been wedged in sidewise in front of his head and that's why he wasn't coming out the regular way. So I felt better knowing the c-section was definitely necessary, even though it was completely opposite of the birth experience I wanted to have. I don't remember anything until around 11am in the recovery room. And I didn't get to see or hold him until I'd been taken to my postpartum room around 1pm. When I finally got him I was just so happy to see him. He is adorable and has lots of dark hair. He nursed right away like a pro. He sleeps well and is so calm, only gets fussy when he needs to burp.

I am recovering much better with this c-section than I did with Jason's, despite the more traumatic labor, so that is good. I'm still very exhausted and sore all over, but happy that my little boy is finally here. We've had lots of visitors, and of course there are doctors and nurses coming in and out all the time, so I haven't gotten much sleep. Hubby is staying here with me and the boys are at my mom's house until we get home in a few days.

Oh, sounds like Nathan is getting ready to wake up and eat so I better get pics uploaded real quick so I can post this :)

It's Baby Time!

So, I am pretty sure I'm in early labor! I've been having contractions all day and they've been pretty consistent for at least 5 hours. Probably in for another long labor like my other two. I'm going to try to get a little rest before things pick up, though I don't think I'll really get any sleep while having contractions every few minutes. I will send updates to my Twitter account. Wish me luck!

Tuesday Done List

I just realized I never posted my Tuesday To-do list! How unlike me. So here's what I did today:

* Midwife Appointment this morning
* Took sister to a job interview
* Dishes
* Had my sister color my hair

I'm sitting here with hair color soaking in, I needed it so bad, my roots had grown out way too far. And I wanted to look nice when I have the baby, so we had to get it done soon. After I get it all washed out we are heading to my parent's house cuz my dad invited us over to watch some world poker thing with everyone. I probably won't be watching it much since it doesn't really interest me, but we figured we could get out and socialize a little lol. It'll disrupt the boys' bedtime, but that's ok, once in a while won't hurt.

Anyway, make sure you keep checking in here, cuz the baby might be showing up sooner rather than later ;)

Writing

My boys love drawing with pen. Luckily they usually keep it to paper, but unfortunately it means we lose pens quickly. I hate not having a pen handy. I had a couple promotional pensfrom some mortgage company or something in my purse that I loved cuz they wrote well, but I think the boys lost them. I hate when I'm away from home and scrambling through my purse looking for a pen, at least when I'm at home I can find a crayon or something.

Baby update

I had an appointment with my midwife this morning. Everything still looks good, though my belly is measuring big (41.5wks). No surprise really since my boys were both near 9 lbs. I expect Nathan to be big too. We are hopeful that he will be coming out in the next few days. I was 2cm and 50% and have been having some cramping and contractions, so things are looking good. We didn't set up another appointment, since we think he's coming soon, but if I do make it to next week I'll go in again sometime.

So, any guesses on when this baby is coming and how big he'll be?!

Changing footwear

I am so sad that winter is almost here. We've gotten a little snow a few times, though it has melted quickly. I just hate that I have to put away my sandals soon. I hate wearing shoes and socks. Which means my sandals get lots and lots of wear. I actually need to buy some nice new sandals, like some Dansko ones, but I'm sure I will wait until next year since I won't be needing them for the next 4-5 months. Now I have to pull out my tennis shoes and boots. Oh, that reminds me, I do need new boots too.

FF vs IE

So, I always use Firefox as my browser. I know lots of people who are still using IE and I just don't get it. FF is so much faster and user-friendly. But what I really hate is when I go to a website that isn't compatible with FF. It's usually some kind of form application and the buttons won't work on the site when using FF. Like the other day I was helping my sister look up something and we went through this site and filled out a big long form, just to find out it wouldn't load in FF. It was annoying. Then I have to open IE and wait forever for it to load anything. So, if you use IE instead of FF, why? I'm genuinely curious.

Jakey and his blankey

OK, I got the pics of Jakey uploaded so I could get them up right away :) And I swear I am going to post Halloween pictures eventually! I still haven't gone through and edited them, but once I do those will get posted soon.

So here is Jakey showing off his blankey:

And here's a pic so you can kind of see the blanket itself (Kate, email me (link in sidebar) if you want the pattern, I'll try to explain it, it's one I was taught so there isn't a pattern online):

And just for fun, here's some pics of Jakey from last night after he got into a Hershey's bar lol:

Monday Madness

Still here, no baby. I'm 39w 1d, so it could still be a little while. Sigh. I am very ready to be done. Especially on days like today when the boys won't listen to me and I want to just lock them in their room and go back to bed. And it's only 8:30am.

Hubby found a little kitten on our porch last night and brought it in. If it weren't so cold and wet out I would just put him back out because we do not need another cat and the boys won't leave the poor thing alone. As it is, I am going to make up some flyers to post around the neighborhood because I'm pretty sure he's not just a stray, he's not afraid of us or being in the house and he uses the litter box so I'm sure he's someone's pet. If nobody calls to claim him quickly I'm not sure what I'll do, cuz I do not want him here. Not to be mean, cuz he is adorable and I love kittens, but just keeping the boys from torturing him is quickly wearing at the last shreds of patience I have.

On a happy note- I FINALLY finished the blanket I started crocheting for Jakey when I was pregnant with him! It's only 2.5 years late lol. He was so excited when I told him it was all done and wrapped him up in it. I will try to post a pic later. (I know, I'm always promising pics and not delivering, but I really will!)

I need to go to the library today to return some books and movies, and I have a chiropractor appointment later. Other than that I am going to try to clean today. The house gets messy way too quickly. Already did a load of dishes and I think I'll get some laundry done next and then another load of dishes (how do they pile up so fast?!).

Busy day for me

Today I have a Scout Pow-wow thing to go to all day. Ok, not all day, but close enough. It's from 8am to 2pm. I was hoping to go into labor before now so I'd have a good excuse not to go lol. Oh well, it is important scout leader training and stuff so I would have to do it sometime anyway. Then later we need to do our weekly grocery shopping. And I'm hoping my sister can dye my hair today sometime too. My roots are so grown out and it just looks bad. I want to look nice before the baby comes. So today will be pretty full. Hope you all have a great weekend!

And Counting

I am now less than 10 days till this baby is due. 8 days left to be exact. I am even trying to come up with ideas on how to give this baby the idea that he needs to come out. We rearranged my sister's room yesterday and I even did much of the heavy lifting. Still nothing. I even joked that I should lift the 100 pound tv in our room up and down the stairs. Last time I did that I was getting contractions. The baby just doesn't want to come out just yet. I really hope he is not like his dad and come out late. I'm not sure how much more of this pregnancy I can take. My stomach just can't stretch anymore and neither can my clothes.

Impatience

I am a very impatient person, most people who know me in real life will agree. I have a hard time waiting for things lol. So waiting for this baby to come when he wants is torture! It's like how my kids know when Christmas is getting close but they don't understand calendars so every day the last month they ask if it's Christmas yet. That's how I feel, like a kid waiting for Christmas with no idea when it will show up. I know this big, special day is coming but can't control when it will be. Sigh.

Any ideas on how I can pass the time?

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful that we had a good day. I even got to take a nap! In fact we all took naps today- both boys, my sisters, and me. It was so nice. We also rearranged my sister's room, which I love doing for some reason, and it looks much better. So today was good. I am also thankful that this pregnancy is slowly but surely getting closer to the end. Just 10 days to my due date!

What are you thankful for today?

Getting stuff done

I really do mean to get Halloween pictures up soon, I promise! I just keep forgetting. Hopefully I will get that posted sometime before the baby is born or I may never find time lol. I think I should get all my pics uploaded to the computer while I'm remembering it, so I will get that started while I type this. Plus I need to clear off my memory card anyway before the baby comes so I have room for those pictures.

I've been more productive this morning than usual. I got dishes done, counter and table washed, floor swept, and my little sister helped the boys clean up the family room so I can get it vacuumed. I think I may be nesting cuz I suddenly just want the house to be clean.

Other than that there isn't much going on today. Just a bright sunny day. Oh, and did I mention we've gotten a few inches of snow this week?! I'm sure I've told you all that I HATE snow! Grr. Oh well, it had to show up some time right?

I Voted!

Today I voted in a presidential election for the very first time. No, I won't say who I voted for, because I don't like getting into politics on my blog and I know that most people have very strong feelings either way. But I am proud to say that I voted. I'm only one person out of millions, and many people look at that and say "My vote doesn't matter", but the votes have to come from somewhere! Anyway, I hope all you Americans were able to get out and vote today. :)

Tuesday To-Do

Here's my list for today:

* Vote Done!
* Midwife appointment Done, everything looks good
* Dishes Also done!
* Take sister job hunting Picked up a bunch of applications
* A few loads of laundry
* Clean up family room
* Vacuum

I love getting things crossed off my list :) Hubby and I got up and voted this morning, nice and early. It's the first time I've voted in a presidential election. I am so glad elections are almost over, finally! Then I had an appointment with my midwife today. Everything is still looking good and normal, we are just waiting for baby to pick his birthday. Hopefully soon because I feel like I'm going to fall apart. I've already done a load of dishes and I just need to do a few loads of laundry and clean up the family room a bit. We are leaving in a few minutes to take my sister out job hunting. That's my productive day :)

Monday Madness

Today I had an orthodontist appointment. I've mentioned before that my orthodontist is 2 hours away, so being 38 weeks pregnant I was a bit worried about driving that far away. I was planning to bring my sister with me in case I went into labor so I'd have someone to drive me back, but she was sick so the boys and I just went like normal. I wasn't too worried though cuz I've been feeling really good today, I don't think baby is coming out any time soon. Anyway, so my appointment went well, nothing new to report.

Then I completely forgot I was going to take my sister job hunting, so we need to remember to go do that tomorrow, along with a few other things. I didn't do too much else today except a load of dishes. This time change has my internal clock all messed up. It feels like bedtime already and it's only 6:30. Maybe I'll go to bed early tonight.

Lame Thieves

So last night we had a blast taking the boys trick or treating. While Hubby took them around our neighborhood I stayed home to pass out candy. We didn't get as many people as I though we would though. Then we left to go to my parent's house to do some more trick or treating and decided to just leave the candy on the porch with a sign saying to take a handful. I pretty much figured it would be all gone by the time we got home, because there are always greedy kids who will take a ton if it's just left out. And I was ok with that because we didn't need all the leftover candy anyway with the amount of loot the boys got.

So, I was right. When we got home all the candy was gone. But, not only was the candy gone, the BOWL it had been in was gone too! They actually stole the ugly big yellow bowl the candy had been in! I can understand taking the candy, but the bowl?! It wasn't even some fancy bowl, just a big yellow bowl I hardly ever use, not worth anything. Hubby looked around to see if they'd tossed the bowl, but it was gone. I'm wondering what that kid's parents thought when he arrived home with a whole bowl of candy. More likely they did ditch the bowl somewhere, but still as a parent I would notice if my kid brought home a ton of the same candy and make them come back and apologize.

So, I'm not really too angry about it, cuz it was just an ugly bowl I rarely used, but I'm annoyed at the audacity of some people. That will for sure be the last time we leave Halloween candy just sitting on the porch. They had to go and ruin it for the other trick or treaters.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!!! I really enjoy Halloween because it is so fun to see all the fun costumes, get lots of candy, and watch my kids have fun. This year my boys are both knights and they love their costumes, especially the foam swords we got them lol. The costumes are a little small, but that's ok, they work. Hubby and I aren't dressing up. I haven't dressed up for Halloween since I was probably 16.

So are you all going trick or treating? Trunk or treating? Staying home to pass out candy? In the last few places we lived our church had trunk or treating, but here they don't. That made me sad, because it is just so much easier with little kids to do the trunk or treats. But they will have fun anyway going trick or treating. First we are going to Hubby's work this afternoon for a little office trick or treat. Then we will come home and take them out trick or treating in our neighborhood, and then to my parent's house so they can do a little more T or T there. I'm not sure if I'm going to go with them around our neighborhood, or stay home and pass out candy. It will depend on whether my sister will be home or not.

Hope everyone has a fun holiday and be safe out there if you are going trick or treating!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful that today is over. It was mostly really boring and I got to stay in pj's, which is always nice, but now I'm feeling really stressed out and just want to head to bed. And I am thankful that tomorrow is Halloween. It's a fun holiday and I'm excited to get the boys dressed up for trick or treating. I love holidays with kids, they are fun.

What are you thankful for today?

Just another day

It's so nice to have a day where I didn't have anywhere to go. Every other day this week there has been something to do, but today we just stayed home and did nothing. I even stayed in pajamas all day. I'm still getting over a cold, but it seems to be getting a little better.

I'm excited for Halloween tomorrow. Hubby's work is having trick or treating at 3, and we will take the boys trick or treating around the neighborhood too. I'm not sure if my sister will e home or not, she may be going to a party. If she isn't home I"ll be staying home to pass out candy while Nate takes the boys out. The boys are excited to get to wear their costumes again. Hopefully it's not too cold. If it's like the rest of this week has been it shouldn't be too bad.

Yummy cereal

Mmm, I love cereal. :) I usually eat a bowl of cereal before I head to bed (just finished some Cinnamon Toast Crunch) because I need to eat before bed and that's what sounds good. Of course, cereal has a lot of sugar in it (well, at least the cereals I like do, lol) so I need to get out of that habit after the baby is born or I won't be able to lose the pregnancy weight. As it is I feel like I need movers New York to come haul me off the couch some days, I am feeling so heavy! I really hope I lose the weight as easily this time as I have before, it's tiring carrying around the weight equivalent of Jason all day.

Forgotten passwords

I am so bad at remembering the passwords and usernames and things that I use for the many sites I visit that require a login (mostly messageboards). Usually I use the same one with a few different variations, but there are some sites with weird username/password requirements and those are the ones I can never remember. I need some kind of keylogger or password manager or something to keep track of what I put in. Oh wait, I guess my browser does store most usernames and passwords, but for some reason it doesn't on some sites. I really should just write them down somewhere or save them in a file.

Precious time

Jakey was never a good sleeper as a baby. It was seriously torture trying to get him (and consequently, me) to get any sleep. He woke up a million times a night and very rarely napped more than twice a day for just 30 mins. Luckily once he turned one it started getting better and he slept more at night and took more regular naps. Now he only occasionally wakes up at night, and he is still taking one nap a day, usually for 2 hrs. Those few hours are my sanity saver. The house is quiet and Jason plays nicely, so I can rest on the couch a bit. Now I'm just hoping that Jakey will keep up the naps for awhile longer since with a new baby I know I will need those precious few hours even more. It will be even better if the baby is a good napper and will nap during that time too.

The best laid plans

I never managed to get all of my to-do list done yesterday, and was going to finish it up today, but only got a few more things done lol. I'm not sure why I bother making a list, but at least it makes me feel better to at least have a plan to do something. I love making lists too. I like having things look nice and organized like that. Of course you wouldn't know it by looking at my house lol, it definitely doesn't look so nice and organized. It's not so easy to keep up with my plans as it is to make them.

It's creeping up on me

I keep forgetting that Christmas is coming up in just 2 months and I have no ideas for presents for anyone! I don't think it'll be hard to find something the boys will like. Though I have noticed Jason pays more attention to commercials than he used to. Anytime a commercial for a cool toy, like an rc helicopter or those little cars that can drive on walls, comes on he goes, "Mom, we need to get that!" Advertising sure does work well on little kids lol. Hubby on the other hand is harder to shop for. I always want to get him something he really wants and is special, but the only thing I can ever think of is DVDs (which he does like). I feel like a loser for not thinking of anything more creative.

OBX

On one of the messageboards I frequent, there is a lady whose family takes a yearly vacation to the Outer Banks. She would always be posting her updates about these awesome trips to OBX, but for the longest time I could not figure out what OBX stood for! I finally figured it out just a month or so ago and felt so silly for not knowing. But really, with it being across the country it's not really a common vacation spot for people from here so I'd enver heard of it before. Unfortunately it is much too far away for me to go there, but it sure does sound like fun.

Priorities

A few weeks ago I was thinking about whether or not the birth center I'm going to has a wireless Internet connection or not. I was even considering getting a mobile router to bring with me just in case. But then I realized that I really don't need it that bad. For one, I'll only be there a short time and I'm pretty sure I'll too busy with my new little baby to care about getting online right away. And secondly, I can text updates to my Twitter account for anyone to check. So, I won't really need the Internet available, and my online buddies can just look for my Twitter update. Works out good for me. :)

Pumpkin Patch

Today my cousin came by with her son and we went to a pumpkin patch. We don't need any more pumpkins since we already carved pumpkins Monday (and I promise I will get pics up eventually!) but she needed to get a bunch and we thought the boys would have fun. We pulled the boys around in a big cart and they loved seeing all the pumpkins and bouncing along. I did pick up 5 mini pumpkins for us because I thought it would be nice to paint them and put them on the table. Now I just need to get some paint! I'm going to try to get that tomorrow so we can paint them tomorrow night.

Oh, and I am so mad, I forgot to bring my camera to get some cute pics of the boys and all the pumpkins, scarecrow, etc. :P I always forget my camera for cute stuff!

Laptop vs. Desktop

The last few weeks I have been using our desktop computer much more than our laptop. This is a big change for me, because usually I like to sit on the couch and be able to move where I want with the laptop. But I realized that the couch was making my back hurt more and office chairs are just a bit more comfortable at this point. I don't like how slow the desktop works sometimes, but right now I prefer comfort over convenience. I'll probably keep using it for a bit after the baby's born too, since it'll be easier to use while holding the baby. Don't worry though, my laptop isn't getting too neglected, my sister uses it now.

My loser

My Hubby has been doing really well on his weight loss. He has been following a diet my brother gave him a month or so ago and it has seemed to have some results. I think he's lost around 21 lbs now, which is about 12% of his starting weight. So it looks like I don't have to worry about looking into diet pill reviews just yet since he seems to be doing ok on what he's doing. He only has about 4 more weeks to go in the contest and I just keep hoping that he wins.

Tuesday To-Do

OK, let me see what I need to do today:

* Clean up family room
* Vacuum - have already gotten family room :)
* Sweep kitchen
* Take sister to an appointment
* Dishes
* Pack labor bag, I keep putting it off

I think that's it! Not really too much to do. I already got my family room picked up and vacuumed and need to vacuum the living room. Dishes always need to be done. I swear they dirty themselves. I do a load a day and am still somehow always behind. One of the last things I need to do to get ready for baby is pack my bag for when I go into labor (and probably a bag for whoever will take care of the boys) and I might get around to doing that today.

Carving Time

We just got home from my parent's house, where we spent a few hours carving pumpkins. The boys really didn't do much for themselves, and Jakey did not like having the pumpkin guts on his hands lol, he had to keep going to the bathroom to wash them. So I did his and mine. I really hate emptying out the icky gooey insides. It is just gross. It's even grosser when the pumpkin is starting to rot inside. Yuck! I did get lots of pics, so I will try to remember to get some posted in the next few days. Now it is past the boys bedtime and we better get them to sleep.

Monday Madness

I had an appointment with my midwife this morning. Nothing new to report, just waiting for this little guy to decide when he wants to come out. I'm due in just under 3 weeks and getting anxious. We have everything pretty much ready for him, just need him to show up now. Did I mention I finally got the crib set up? I need to get the car seat in the car and pack my bag, but other than that I'm pretty set.

I have a yucky cold that is making me miserable. Especially at night, my throat feels like it's on fire from the cool, dry air. Jason also has a little cold, and Jakey might be coming down with it too. I went from telling the baby he could come out at any time now, to telling him to please wait until we are all well, lol. I'd prefer not to be sick with a newborn in the house.

We are going over to my parent's house later to carve pumpkins. That should be lots of fun. I only hate scooping out the seeds, eew! :P I bet the boys will enjoy it though. The messier the better to them lol.

Flare up

Earlier on in my pregnancy I was so thrilled that my Psoriasis was looking so good. I had to worry about treatment of acne instead but that didn't bother me too much compared to how good the rest of my skin was looking. Unfortunately now it has been reversed. I have no acne problems now, but my Psoriasis has really flared up. It used to be easy to take care of with the lotion I've been using for a few years, but now that is barely helping at all. :( If it doesn't get better when I'm no longer pregnant, then I'll have to break down and go to a dermatologist for the first time in at least 10 years.

Movie Party

One of my online friends has a giant 92" front projection TV. That thing is massive! Some day I'd love to have a room in our home to make like a mini theater with a huge TV screen and big comfy seats and home theater lighting and all the works. Ooh, maybe a popcorn machine too! Then we can invite friends over (cuz with a room like that I'm sure people would want to be our friends, right?!) and have big movie parties. Plus it would be great for watching football. I can just imagine the Superbowl parties we could have. Hopefully one day.

Busy weekend

We had a very fun busy day yesterday. First Hubby and I headed to an old school that had moved and was giving away a bunch of old stuff like bookshelves and chairs and stuff. We found a whiteboard and a little table to put in the boys' playroom. The boys love the whiteboard. I'm glad we got it. Then we went shopping for groceries. After that we got the boys dressed up in their costumes and headed to the city Halloween carnival. They were having a trunk or treat, but we didn't realize it wasn't until a few hours later, so we headed to my parent's house for a little bit then went back. The trunk or treat was ok, though the boys were tired of the stopping and starting (it was way packed) and wanted to stop after just a few cars. Of course I am a horrible mommy and had them keep going cuz I wanted more candy lol. They did enjoy it though and have had way too much sugar the last two days. So after the trunk or treat we had to take my sister somewhere to do someone's makeup for a Halloween party, then we stopped to get a few things for dinner tonight and finally headed home. The boys were exhausted and Jakey didn't get his nap so he was very tired and grumpy. All together it was a fun day though and Jason has been begging to wear his costume all day lol.

Bedtime yet?

Today I am not feeling very well. I slept horribly. I was awake from 1-4am, just tossing and turning. I finally went downstairs and slept on the couch for a few hours, which isn't very comfortable usually, but at least it worked. I also woke up with a scratchy, swollen sore throat and stuffy nose, though that seems to be getting a little better as the day goes on. And I have been starving! I had to get up and grab something to eat last night to keep from getting sick, and today I just feel like I haven't eaten anything even though I have eaten like normal. I"m not sure if this is all from the flu shot I got yesterday or just because.

But at least I'm getting stuff done. I did dishes already (though I'll have to do another load later today too), and I finally folded all the baby blankets, burp cloths, etc that have been waiting to be put away. I got that all ready for baby. I am also going to get the crib set up as soon as I can find the screwdriver. I'm slowly getting things marked off my baby to-do list.

Is it November yet?

Today I went to visit my brother's girlfriend's baby. She was born yesterday and she is just so cute and tiny! She was only 6lb 10oz and 18 inches, so compared to my 9lb babies she looked so small. It made me really want my little guy to come out! I want to be able to give my baby cuddles and kisses. And I'm just tired and uncomfortable and ready to be done lol. At least I only have a few more weeks to wait. If he takes after his brothers it shouldn't be more than 3.5wks. I feel like my belly just can't stretch anymore and it is getting harder to move myself around. It makes Hubby laugh when I grunt and groan getting off the couch lol.

Quick Day

We've had a nice busy day today. It always makes the day pass quicker when you are on the go a lot. We had to run my sister around to get some errands done like paperwork to get her cosmetology license. So we were in the car for a few hours, stopped at my family's house for a bit, and in the car some more. Then I had scouts at 4. And tonight my sister and I went to WalMart to walk for a bit. It's a little too cold outside to walk out there anymore so we figured we'd just do some laps at WalMart. That was fun because we left the boys with Hubby and got to just walk and talk, and then look at cute baby stuff for a bit. I'm hoping if we can get lots of walking in that it will help this baby decide he wants to come out sooner rather than later lol, though I'm not getting my hopes up too high since my two boys both arrived at 40wks so I am sure I probably have at least 3wks left.

Tuesday To-Do

I love doing my to-do list after I've already gotten some things done, makes me feel better lol. Here is today's list:

* Midwife Appointment
* Dishes Got a load washing right now
* Clean family room
* Vacuum
* Fold laundry
* Put together crib

Our family room is trashed so I need to get the boys to help clean up, since it is mostly their mess. And I have a bunch of laundry sitting at the foot of my bed again so I really need to get that all put away. I also want to get the baby's crib put together today. It's time to start making sure everything is ready for when he decides to show up.

Chocolate Covered Jakey

What do you get when you mix chocolate dipped fruit and a 2 year old? This:

This pic doesn't even do justice to how chocolate-covered Jakey was lol. A few weeks ago we had my brother and his wife over for dinner and for dessert they brought a bunch of fruit to dip in dipping chocolate. It was soooo yummy! The boys had a lot of fun with it too, and ended up covered in chocolate, especially Jakey. He had it all over his body and we had to just throw them both in the shower to get them clean.

Home Sweet Home

Well, we are finally home. :) I am glad we won't be going on any car trips that long for a few more months, because my back is just killing me and my knees hurt from sitting in the car all cramped. We always leave the inlaw's house with twice as much stuff as we go up there with, which means our car was packed tight to get home. Oh yeah, we took the car up there instead of the van to save on gas. Some of the stuff we came back with were a booster seat for Jason, 4 big nice lamps with lampshades, a jewelry stand that we are going to use as a little table in the living room, and 24 boxes of brownie mix (yum!). So along with our suitcase, pillows, jackets, and the boys in car seats in the backseat, we were extremely squished. But we made it home in one piece and I am so happy that I get to sleep in my bed tonight.

Falling apart

One of these days we really need to buy some new bedroom furniture. Ours is all mismatched and the bed frames falling apart. I find myself looking through magazines or watching shows and noticing any bedroom furniture that shows up and thinking of how it would look in our room. I'm hoping that maybe next year our tax return will be big enough to maybe at least get a new bed frame before ours completely gives out.

You can find anything online

The other day I was looking on Craigslist for something. I can't remember exactly what, but occasionally I like to just browse around and see what kind of stuff people are offering. I think I was looking up babysitting or something just to see if people around here are looking for babysitters. There are usually lots of ads for franchise opportunities and work at home stuff. It can be hard to find what you are looking for if you want something specicfic, but if you are just browsing around there is some interesting stuff.

Price Drop

One thing I have to remind myself when I want to buy some latest gadget is that usually after the initial big fuss the price goes way down. Like just a few days ago I saw a commercial about the price of a PS3 now being just $199, instead of whatever it was. So I see all these cool new phones coming out and think, "Man, I want that!", but then remind myself that if I am patient then I can buy it cheaper a year later or something.

Sleepless in Idaho

I don't know why it is, but Jakey always wakes up much earlier when we are at the inlaws. He usually goes to bed later, but still gets up early. Drives me nuts cuz he can't just play quietly for another hour, he has to make sure I'm awake too. Every few minutes he would open the door and go "Mommy, you need to get up, it's sunny time!" I kept telling him I was still tired so he'd go play for a little bit then come back and repeat. It wouldn't be so bad if I weren't just so tired, but the guest bed here is a lot firmer than our bed at home and by morning I'm in pain and not rested so it's just hard to get going. At least we don't have church until 1pm here so I don't have to rush around getting the boys ready. We are just going to Sacrament meeting today instead of all the meetings since we have to drive home tonight. I can't wait to sleep in my nice extra-soft bed tonight. :)

High-speed rocks!

I love that my sister-in-law has the same type of laptop as we do. It makes it so much easier to use the computer here. Plus they finally got high-speed Internet instead of dial-up! It wasn't available for a long time out here in the country, but now that they have a school being built across the street they had to get it out this way. Now they just need to get a router so the laptop can be used anywhere in the house instead of being plugged in to the modem. Hubby was saying that should be our Christmas gift for them this year. Sounds good to me :)

What about Bob?

I keep wondering if I should get a double stroller or not after the baby comes. On one hand we don't really use our stroller that often so it seems almost like a waste of money to buy a new, more expensive, stroller that won't get used often just for convenience. On the other hand when we went on our walk this week and both boys wanted to be in the stroller at the same time for a bit, I was thinking it would be a lot easier for them to have separate seats instead of having Jakey balance sitting on the top. I really like the double Bob strollers, because they are so cool looking and not gigantic like some double strollers I have seen, and I've heard that they are very high quality and durable so it would last me a good long time. I still haven't settled the debate with myself on whether I really need a double stroller or not. I guess we'll just have to see if we need one after the baby comes.

Sitting pretty

One thing I've been thinking about with another kid coming is getting a new carseat/booster for Jason soon. He is starting to get too tall for his carseat and I've been wanting to get him one of those seats that has the 5-point harness for bigger kids and converts to a booster, but right now we don't have the money for the one's I have been thinking about, like the Britax Frontier that has the 5-point harness up to 80lbs and is a seatbelt booster up to 100lbs. With something like that we wouldn't have to get Jason a new seat ever. Anyway, when we got to the inlaws last night she asked us if we want this high-back booster she bought. That would be a big help. Then we wouldn't have to worry about getting a new seat for a while and could use Jason's seat for the baby when he gets bigger.

A little vacay

Well, today we are off to Idaho. I just finished packing so as soon as Hubby gets home (he took a half day off) we are leaving. My back isn't hurting as bad today, so hopefully the trip won't be too bad on it. Plus it'll give me plenty of time to work on Jakey's blanket that I am determined to finish before the baby is born so I can start on one for him.

We will be back Sunday night, but the in-laws have Internet so I may or may not post this weekend. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Another day

My back is still hurting pretty bad, but I can't sit around and do nothing today. We are going up to Idaho this weekend so I need to get laundry done and the house cleaned up before we go. I am not looking forward to a 4hr car trip with my back hurting so much already, but oh well. It's probably the last time we'll be going up there until Christmas.

I wanted to do a little craft with the boys today, but I have to go see if I have what I would need for it, otherwise I'll have to come up with something else. Oh yeah, and I need to fix a couch cushion in the playroom that the boys tore apart :P Silly kids.

My back hates me

Ugh, last night was horrible. Yesterday my sister and I took the boys on a nice walk, which was fun and all. But afterwards my back was hurting worse than it was before I went to the chiro Monday and I had lots of Braxton-Hicks contractions the rest of the evening/night. And baby decided to be very active last night too. So I had a long miserable night in pain. I've been sitting with a hot rice bag on my lower back most of the morning to help me feel better. I'm not sure if I should go on any more walks for a few weeks until I hit term so I don't accidentally make myself go into labor too early lol.

Getting stuff done

I haven't done all of my list yet today, but off to an ok start :) My appointment this morning went well, everything looks perfect and I go back in a week. I did a load of dishes earlier, and will have to do another before bed. I cleaned up the family room a bit, though it still needs vacuumed. I haven't started on the laundry yet, but I am going to as soon as I get dinner done. I've been wanting something breakfast-y like French toast casserole (French toast is one of my favorite breakfast foods, mmm!), but I decided to stick to the menu and we are having twice-baked potatoes, also yummy. So gotta go get the potatoes out of the oven and get them ready.

Tuesday To-Do

Good morning everyone! Today I woke up in a pretty good mood, which for me is not normal. I am not a morning person and usually take a good hour to fully wake up and shake off my grumpiness. So when I wake up in a good mood it's always nice. I'm sure it's because I slept a bit better last night than I have been lately plus the boys didn't wake up until 7:30.

So anyway, here is what I need to do today:

* Midwife Appointment at 9am
* Dishes, we are running out of clean ones
* Fold the mountain of laundry at the foot of the bed
* Clean up and vacuum family room

That all sounds doable :) Hopefully when we get back from my appointment I'll still be in a good mood and have the energy to get it all done quickly so I don't have to worry about it all day.

Monday Madness

OK, sorry I didn't post all weekend. I haven't been feeling well. Just tired and my back hurts and I have a cold. So I didn't feel like writing anything. But I have a chiropractor appointment today, so that should help me feel better.

I had a scout meeting this morning that I almost forgot about because I wanted to lay down and sleep. But I did make it. I had to reschedule my midwife appointment that was this morning to tomorrow. And that's about as exciting as my week has been so far lol. :D

I'm off to make some lunch and then lay on the couch. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my boys being so good today. Except for about an hour after Jakey woke up from his nap and was very grumpy, they have been cute and fun and good. I'm thankful we got out of the house this morning. We went with my mom to a place nearby called Gardner Village because it is all decorated for Halloween and had lots of fun witches and other decor up. Overall this has been a pretty good week, and I am thankful for that. :)

What are you thankful for?

Leaf Art

The other day I decided to look up fun fall activities to do with the kids to try to bring a little more creativity into our home and interaction. A fun, simple idea I saw was to do leaf rubbings. Since I am not very creative normally, I thought this would be the perfect activity to start out our fall.
I gathered a handful of leaves off the trees in our yard in different sizes and shapes. Then I had the boys gather a few of their already broken and de-papered crayons. Then we just needed a few sheets of paper and we were ready to get started.
I demonstrated to the boys how you can put a leaf under the paper and rub it with a crayon and it makes a colorful leaf appear on the paper. Once they understood the basic concept they got to work.
I had to help Jakey with his a little bit, but Jason just took off on his own. Although it only lasted about 5 minutes, it was a nice little activity that we could do together. We then hung the art on the fridge so they can show Daddy when he gets home.
