An Announcement!!!

I have a super hard time keeping secrets. The fact that I've been able to keep this a secret for a whole week is pretty good for me lol. So here it is!

Notice the shirts? Yep, that's right, they ALL say BIG brother, even Nathan's. We are expecting baby #4 in February! We are thrilled! So far I'm feeling great. A little more hungry, but that's to be expected. This a time I can eat a little more without worrying about safe weight loss pills lol. That's why I'm really trying to eat healthier lately though. A girl would be nice this time, but of course I make adorable boys so another would be good too. :)

Playtime at the park!

We've been taking advantage of the recent good weather to get outside more. A few weeks ago we walked to a park about a mile down the road and let the boys play for awhile.

Then another day we went to another park with my sister's family for a picnic. It was so much fun. We need to plan to do it more often. I've read on eczema treatment reviews that sunlight is good to help clear it up, so hopefully getting out more will help Nathan be more clear.

I love my family and spending time with them. :)

Party Pics

Here's some pictures from Jakey's birthday party today.

Starting into the pile of presents

Nick Jr coloring book, he was very happy

My sister got her baby one of these bubble mowers a few weeks ago for his 1st birthday, and Jakey has been asking for one every time we asked him what he wanted for his birthday.

The boys have been loving watching Pokemon lately, so Grandma Laurie got him this cool shirt

Nathan and my sister's baby playing with the keyboard, just so cute :D

I'm glad the day got brighter so I didn't have to worry about Murray Feiss lighting or anything. I love getting the natural light in, it makes for much better pictures.

Party food

I am really trying to eat healthier this year. Of course, then I have days like today where that pretty much goes out the window. We had Jakey's 4th birthday party today. His birthday is June 1 but we had it this weekend. It was a lot of fun, lots of family and food. And cupcakes, mmm. Days like this make me wish for supplements I could take to make up for the unhealthy eating. I do take my daily vitamins, drink lots of water, and try eat more fruits and veggies, but what I really need to work on is cutting back on the junk.

Email

Sometimes I'm surprised to realize I've had the same email address ever since my family got Internet at least 12-13 years ago. I have another email address that I started probably 4 years ago because I was tired of the spam in my Hotmail account, but I still use Hotmail as my primary one. I get tons of junk mail for things like winning some foreign lottery, helping some foreign banker who wants to give me his millions of dollars, searching for online life insurance, and all that, and I really don't mind anymore. I quickly scan through my junk folder for stuff that may have been tossed that I do want, but then I just delete it all. The few seconds it takes doesn't bother me much. And I have the email from my Gmail account all forwarded to my Hotmail so I just get it all in one place. OK, I just got lost in some memories and my train of thought got off track, not sure where I was going with the post lol.

Sugar remorse

Ugh, I just ate a Snickers bar and some Skittles and now my tummy is not happy with me. Too much sugar at once. I'm really trying to eat healthier so I don't have to worry about diet supplement reviews in the future. I'm trying to get at least 2-3 servings of fruits and veggies each day. I know it's supposed to be more, but considering I frequently only get 1, 2-3 is a big improvement. I'm also trying not to eat as much junk food, and I was doing good today until we went grocery shopping and I got that sugar. I really need to just not have junk food around me cuz I have a hard time resisting.

Insured

When we had some financial advisers meet with us a few weeks ago, we went over all our assets, insurance, goals, etc. They talked with us about a different kind of life insurance policy, that I still don't quite understand, and gave us some estimated life insurance quotes for it. We decided not to go for it at this time since we do have insurance through Hubby's work, and all our extra income is going towards paying off debts like student loans. Maybe in the future we will look into it more though.

Face time

Recently I've been trying to get my face to be clearer. Ever since I started some new medications for my psoriasis back in Dec/Jan I've broken out a ton. I have a few acne treatment products but they weren't doing much to help. I started actually paying attention to things like acne commercials and acnepril reviews trying to see what might help. Than I read a simple tip somewhere. Maybe in a magazine. That is to put heat on the problem areas for a few minutes a day to kill the bacteria. It said if you keep getting acne in the same areas that means the pores are continuously getting infected with bacteria there and if you apply heat (I think it said somewhere around 110*) for a few minutes then it helps kill the bacteria that causes the acne. I thought it would be worth a try, and cheaper than buying a bunch of different acne treatments. So most nights for the last week I've remembered to wet a washcloth with the hottest water I can stand and hold it to the affected areas. It's not completely clear but I've noticed a big difference already. I don't know if it would help a person with severe acne, but it has helped me with my trouble spots.

Lists

It seems like time is just never going to slow down. Every day, week, month, year all go by faster and faster. Don't you wish you could just pause life for a bit to catch your breath? I need to make myself a to-do list with stuff I need to do today, need to do soon, want to do soon, and projects I'd like to do if I ever get all the rest of that done. The problem is the 'need to do today' stuff rarely gets all done to even get on to any of the rest, probably cuz I don't have a list to go off of. If I don't write stuff down I tend to forget it pretty quickly. That's what having 3 kids has done to me. Which reminds me I need to get my grocery list done so we can go shopping tonight. We normally go Saturdays, but we are having Jakey's birthday party tomorrow.

Laundry, the never-ending chore

Does anybody know where to find the laundry fairy? She seems to have skipped my house. :P I don't mine getting the laundry sorted and washed, but I've always hated the folding and hanging and putting stuff away. Actually, I don't do a whole lot of folding. The boys clothes never stay folded anyway so I finally gave up and just throw their clothes in their drawers. And the only thing we have folded in dressers are sweaters, socks, and underthings, etc. So at least I don't have to fold much, that helps. But I do hang up all of mine and Hubby's shirts, pants, and skirts. Not hard, just takes time. I used to hate folding socks as a kid (probably because in a house with at least 10 people all the time there were a TON of socks!) but now I don't mind too much. I don't know why I'm complaining, it really isn't a hard chore. At least I don't have to hand wash and hang dry everything! I think it's just the never-ending repetition of the chore that annoys me most.

Connected

I've been really wishing I could get a new laptop. Ours has worked better since we uninstalled Vista and put Windows XP on, but still not as good as I'd like. And because we did that I no longer have Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Which means I had to download Open Office which, frankly, sucks. I don't know what type of laptop I want because I don't think I could tell you the difference between a Macbook and a Sony VAIO, but I like the look of the little netbooks cuz they are small and cute lol. I'm sure we won't get a new laptop until this one completely dies, but I know for sure we will not be getting an HP again.

Walk it off

I've been telling myself for months now that I really want to do some exercises to reduce belly fat before the next time I get pregnant (which I'm not!) but I keep putting it off. I'm hoping that now that the weather is nice we can go for walks as a family more. I really enjoy that and I think doing at least that much exercise is better than nothing. I don't plan to run any 5-10k's this year so I'm not really motivated to do any running. I do have some exercise DVDs that I don't mind doing (Slim in 6) but I just haven't found the time or energy to do them. I would love to have a treadmill or exercise bike or elliptical or something to work on at home, I think I would get more exercise that way.

And the Ring Pop winner is...

So I guess I forgot to post the winner of my Ring Pops giveaway! Of course I only had 1 entrant so by default the winner is my friend Heather R! Congratulations Heather! I will get those mailed out soon, I promise. Finding time to run to the post office without dragging all the kids with me is like trying to find diet pills that work, very hard! Which means one of these days I'll have to suck it up and just take them all with me if I want to get it sent out anytime soon lol.

Sunshine and blue skies!

I am really loving this warmer weather! Yesterday evening we went for a walk to a park and let the boys play for a while. Today after grocery shopping we went up to my sister's and went to a park for a picnic. It is just so nice to be able to get out and get some sun! It's really nice because the sun helps clear up my psoriasis, and I also heard it can help clear up adult acne, which I desperately need help with, but I'm not sure if that's true. I also love that I can send the boys out to play in the backyard more during the day. It lets them run off some energy and gives me a little break. Hopefully now my garden will start growing more too, especially my tomato plants.

Sugar Free Ring Pops Review and Giveaway!

My kids and I were given the chance to try out new Sugar Free Ring Pops. I have loved Ring Pops since I was a kid, and my little boys take after their mommy in many ways, but especially in their love of sweet treats. Any time they got one for Halloween or Valentine's or anything it was the first thing they wanted to eat. So when I was asked to review the new Sugar Free Ring Pops, sweetened with Splenda, I jumped at the chance to give my kids a treat they love without all the guilt.

We received 3 Ring Pops in Strawberry, Watermelon, and Blue Raspberry, all yummy flavors. I let the boys pick their flavors first, because I can sometimes be nice like that, and of course they took my favorites first and left me with Blue Raspberry. But I can forgive them because they did let me have a taste of theirs, and mine was still yummy.

To me it tasted just like a regular sugary Ring Pop. My boys enjoyed them just as much as always. Jacob told me, "I love these, Mom!" and Jason said it was very yummy. So all around they got great reviews at my home, and I feel a bit better about letting them have candy that isn't full of sugar or fat. Oh, did I mention they are also fat free, too?! Yep, just 30 calories, no sugar, no fat.

And because we want to share the excitement for these new sugar free treats, I was also sent another package of 3 Sugar Free Ring Pops to give away to one lucky reader! Now one of you can have a chance to try out these treats and see what you think. All you need to do is leave me a comment telling me what your favorite flavor is. Open to US residents only, but you don't have to have a blog, as long as you leave an email address. You can earn an extra entry by being a follower or subscriber to my blog and leave an extra comment letting me know. The giveaway will end Sunday, May 9th, and 10pm Mountain Time.

Cutest kid. Ever. Really.

Nathan is the cutest, cuddliest little guy ever. I love getting pictures of him because if he sees me get out the camera he gets so excited to get his picture taken. I love the last pic, because besides being just absolutely adorable, he has his eyes wide open lol. You can see from his other pics that he has kind of droopy eyes, so he always looks like he's squinting. Not even the best eye creams would fix it cuz it's just how they naturally are, and I love it. I just love looking at the pics of him cuz he is such a happy little guy and I love him so much. I am really blessed to have him, and my other amazing little boys, as my son. I get to cuddle and kiss and hold him all the time and it's the best thing in the world.

Colors

The boys love coloring with markers, but I hate that they end up coloring themselves, the wall, the table, etc. I finally told them they could use them (washable markers of course) as long as they have their papers on this cardboard display thing. So at least if they go off the paper it's just getting on the cardboard. I still have to work on getting them not to color on themselves and remembering to put all the lids back on, but at least they get to use their markers now.

Snow

This is what our front yard looked like yesterday morning. I know it's not a lot of snow, but to me any snow at the end of April is TOO MUCH! I checked on my tomato plants and let them get a little sun today, but have them covered up again for the night since it's still going to be in the 30's.

April showers bring... April snow?!

Oh, have a mentioned the snow we got this week?! Yep, the end of April came with a nice cold storm and snow. Grr. I had to cover up all my tomato plants so they wouldn't freeze. Plus I know I've mentioned many times how much I hate cold and snow lol. Luckily it should warm up again next week. I definitely will never have a need for a Boston job search because I've heard they get worse cold and snow there, so that's out, even though I'd love to visit there one day. Preferably when it's warm. When I'm old I'm definitely going to be one of those people who goes south for the winter lol. I will try to remember to get a picture of the snow we got yesterday. It really wasn't a lot, just more than I want at this time of year.

Something about floors

I wish I could keep my kitchen clean for more than a few hours. Every time I get it looking really nice we have to eat again and it gets messed up way too quickly. Of course the same goes for every part of the house lol, especially now that little Nathan can open most of the doors. My bathroom is no longer safe from him. He likes to go in there and grab Hubby's electric toothbrush and carry it around. Yesterday I went in and found a candle stuck in the toilet. I didn't have one of those fish pond filter things for fish tanks, those green net thingies, so I had to reach in pull it out myself, yuck. I scrubbed my hands good after that. At least our family room remains clean most of the time. We allow very few toys upstairs, they have to stay in the playroom, so we only have some baby toys in a bin and it's easy to throw them back in to clean up the room. The kitchen floor doesn't stay as clean though. Ugh, it gets so yucky, especially around the high chair and the kids' table. Right now it's covered in cereal and mac n cheese but I'm not sure I want to bother sweeping before dinner and the next round of food meets the floor lol.

The days are packed

Some days I really wish I could go back to the days when my week wasn't packed with appointments and places to be and things to do. The more kids I have the busier my life gets. I watch extra kids every day of the week. Last week my husband had to go to Young Men's on Tuesday, I had a Relief Society presidency meeting on Wednesday and then another on Thursday while Hubby met with some financial advisers to talk about stuff like term life insurance quotes. Friday I had a funeral to go to. :( That was so sad. Then my mother-in-law came down with her daughter and a friend. And my sister came over to hang out. Today we had to do our weekly grocery shopping, and I need to go to the library before it closes. Good thing we have nothing besides church tomorrow so we can rest up for the week ahead.

Need sleep

This has been a busy busy week and I'm tired. My sister and her husband and baby came over last night to hang out and we stayed up way too late playing Rummy. It was lots of fun though. They actually spent the night since they didn't want to drive home so tired. Unfortunately the boys got up at there normal time despite staying up way too late. I had such a hard time pulling myself out of bed lol. The other day I was noticing that I should start looking for the best wrinkle cream cuz all the years of not getting enough sleep is giving me little lines and wrinkles around my eyes. I do have some eye cream that I try to remember to put on, but I forget most days.
