Menu Plan Monday

Today is my first time joining in with Menu Plan Monday, hosted at Organizing Junkie. I never joined in before, cuz I never planned in advance lol. But last week Hubby and I got together and made up a monthly menu plan chart with dinners we like. We have 4 weeks of rotating meals so now we can now what to buy and I don't have to stare into my cupboards and fridge wondering what to make with a can of chili, leftover hamburgers, and and a box of muffin mix. It's easier for us to shop for what we need and a lot less stress on me to come up with something to eat at the last minute. Each week we have a leftovers night to help keep the leftovers from piling up and taking over the fridge, like they normally do. Anyway, so on to this week's menu!

Monday
- Eating out at Applebee's for Hubby's Birthday

Tuesday
- Baked Potatoes w/toppings, corn on the cob, salad

Wednesday
- Hamburger Helper, peas

Thursday
- Chicken and Stuffing Casserole, corn

Friday
- Going camping, hot dogs, dutch oven cobbler

Saturday
- Leftovers

Sunday
- Pork Chops, mashed potatoes, green beans

They are simple meals, but they work for us and are stuff I will actually make.

Who ever said there was anything wrong with easy dishes? I love easy dishes! I think you will be happy with menu planning. It saves time and money and makes my life so much easier when I know what meat to lay out etc. Good Job! your meals sound good to me. What is your recipe for the dutch oven cobbler?

dutch oven cobbler is easy :) 1 chocolate cake mix, 1 can of cherry pie filling, and one can of 7up/Sprite. Just put the cherries in, then the cake mix, and pour on the 7up, then cook. I still need to ask my mom how long to cok it though, I forgot :) or you can do peach cobbler with a white cake mix, can of peaches, and the 7up

Those sound DELICIOUS! On Tuesday night I would starve! Must. Have. Meat. LOL I'm a total carnivore! LOL We're in a weird phase because with a family of 4 (where our 2 kids eat as much as adults) almost all of our meals yield no leftovers, so I wonder how that'll work when baby #3 is here and can eat with us. But right now, we don't ever really have left overs.

I made fried pork chops the other day and OH MAN, makes me want them again! MMMMMMMM.

LOL Dawn. We'll probably have some chili to top the potatoes, so it might have a little meat :D And I grew up cooking in a house that always had at least 10 people to feed, so I always cook to much lol, we usually have too many leftovers. And I hate Pork Chops, but Hubby loves them so he will have that while I eat hot dogs or something. :)

Let's see, can I come over Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday for dinner? Ah heck, how about all week? ;)

Menu planning is really smart. I should do that. Maybe next week. ;)

I used to never plan menus, thinking I didn't have the time, and we'd end up getting fast food a couple times a week. Then I started doing menu-planning -- with REALLY easy menus, like you've done (actually, maybe easier...) and it turned out to be not that hard! My whole family was eating better and I was less stressed.

I need to start it up again. I fell off the wagon when J was born.
