So tired of being tired

My baby doesn't sleep. At least not long enough for me to get any sleep. He wakes up every 1-2 hours, all night, every night. I rarely get more than 2hrs of sleep at a time. Luckily hubby helps a bit and usually takes him a few hours a night downstairs. And he can't sleep this horrible forever, right? RIGHT?!?

I bet you're tired! You poor thing, I'm so sorry! I hope he won't sleep like this forever, that would be awful.

You've probably tried these things but here are some ideas. Feeding him more baby food through out the day, same nightly routine, white noise, patting him to sleep at night (which will take a long time in the beginning) but that way he knows he won't always be picked up, try not to bf as much through the night.

I have the Baby Whisperer book that I really like if you want to borrow it. You work hard you need some sleep! Let me know what else I can do to help.

I just wish it was as easy as 2yr old was. But he took a binky and Baby won't. With 2yr old I just popped the binky in and he got used to not nursing at night. But Baby wakes up and wants to suck on something and the only thing he'll suck on is me! And if I try to just get him back to sleep any other way he just screams until I give in :( I've tried giving him rice cereal for bed and that hasn't helped either. I did read that book once but can't remember any of it, I'd love to borrow it and see if it helps.

Gee, that's got to be rough on you and hubby. Is baby old enough to go all night without a feeding?

I remember that with Justin, it's awful (well he still gets up at night at almost 3) but the all night nursing was the pits....I felt like a dog laying on my side nursing all night (it was that or slip into a coma the next day, at least that way I was sleeping). Anyhow (((hugs))) since Baby shares my b-day I know that he's just turned 7 months old and he might just be too little still...I hope he starts sleeping better for you soon though! And you're right, he can't sleep this horribly forever!

Well, last night hubby took him downstairs to sleep on the couch again and he slept from 11:45-4:45ish, I got 5 full hrs of uninterrupted sleep! It was great :D Then he slept from 6:45-8:15 when we got up. I hope he starts sleeping like that more.

Yes, it gets better. Though, I have to admit my daughter woke up a few times a night until she was 11. Not sure why she had to tell me about it every time! LOL I love my full night's sleep ...

I hope you find something to help him :( I know it's really hard to take care of a family on such little sleep.
I've had bad sleepers, but I gave into the family bed, and finally got some sleep myself. And then I had the fun task of getting them to sleep in their beds when they are older... Still working on Joy.

Mimo- we cosleep with Baby (did with 2yr old until baby was born too). He starts out the night in his crib usually but we put him in our bed after he wakes up, just too hard to keep getting up and down in th middle of the night lol
