SMART Habit Saturday

Good news for all of you joining in SHS- for every person who joins in at least 2 weeks in a row by the end of March, you will be entered into a drawing by Lara for 5 of her organizing bags! What a fun idea! So if you have a wanted to join in, but haven't gotten around to it yet, do it now!

OK, now on to how I did this last week. Not too well, but better than the week before. Some goals did better than others. The accident Saturday night threw things off again (isn't there always something? I need to start making them habits that can survive things that disrupt everyday life). Here's a shot of my Joe's Goals:

As you can see, I did ok on brushing teeth and dishes, though not as good as I'd like, but I didn't read my scriptures at all and only cleaned a few days. I'm going to work on these more this week.

I'm also going to scale back on a few things, because sometimes I set goals a little higher than I'm ready to do and then I get burnt out and don't do them. So here's all my goals and some revisions:

#1- Clean 1 hour a day (except Sundays). Started out good, but the last few weeks has slacked. I'm revising this to 1/2 hour a day, if I do more than yay for me! I think this will help me make it a habit faster.

#2- Dishes. Stay caught up by unloading/loading right away. Also started out great, but not quite as good now, though not horrible. I'm keeping this as is, cuz I really want to make it a habit.

#3- Brush teeth 2x a day. Haven't done too well. Going from 2x a week to 2x a day is a big leap. So this I'm revising to 1x a day, and hopefully that will become a habit soon and I'll go back to 2x a day.

#4- Read Scriptures every day. Well, as you can see, this didn't get done even once, oops! No revising here, I still want that to be my goal, hopefully this week will go better!

OK, and my new goal for this week will be to work on a bedtime routine for Toddler. This will be bath-time (every other day), brush teeth, read a book, say prayers, and bed. Ever since I started working his bedtime has gotten crazy. Since he doesn't go to bed until I get home, and my schedule varies, he has no set bedtime. Hopefully this will make it easier despite no set time.

So recap of goals:
#1- Clean 1/2hr a day
#2- Keep up with dishes
#3- Brush teeth 1x a day
#4- Read scriptures every day
#5- Toddler bedtime routine

Good luck to all of you with your goals! Check out SHS at The Lazy Organizer to learn more about it and join in!

I'll be back next week to see how you did. I have 2yr old who still gets into our bed during the night....

Must work on that soon!

I'm glad you are not giving up because you do have some great habits you're working on. I know you'll find a way to fit them into your schedule!

Good Luck! I think that I love the bedtime routine the best with my kids. We get to spend some quailty time together. I could not do it right after my surgery and dh took care of it for me. One night, he brought Kate into the livingroom where I was and told me Kate had something to tell me. She said, "Want Mommy to read book." I thought I would just cry so I had to go and read our favorite book. The Nighty Night book! Good Luck this week.
