New Ride

So, we finally broke down and bought a minivan. It's not that we didn't want one, but it hasn't really been in our budget to get a 2nd vehicle. We decided that we really need it though because it will make things much easier, especially when Hubby has to drive carpool 1 week a month, now I won't have to bug Michelle for rides lol. Plus whenever we have another kid we will need more room, as it was we barely all fit in our little car, the passenger seat was pushed way forward to make room for Baby's carseat so that the passenger (usually me) had their knees against the dashboard and forced to sit straight up. Not fun for long car rides. So all of that finally inspired us to look for a minivan. We went out Saturday just to look, not really planning to buy right then, but we found one that fit our budget. It's not quite what I wanted but we can afford it so that's what matters. I really wanted a Honda Odyssey, but they were way out of our price range, even used. So what we got is a 2001 Ford Windstar. It's in good condition, drives decent, and I already love having more room. The color kind of bugs me for some reason, but I'll get over that. The hardest part for me to accept is that it's a Ford. I was raised strictly a Chevy girl, from a young age it was pounded into my head by my dealership-service-manager dad that Ford's suck, never get one, lol. But as far as I can tell, the reviews for the Windstar are pretty good, and so I guess I'll just have to get over my prejudice :D Here is a pic of my new ride:

I was the same way when we got our Ford. I had had it pounded into my head that Fords suck, but my Taurus has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I've had it for 3 years now and I've put MAYBE $200 of repairs into it (and that's including stuff you HAVE to do like brakes and oil and all that - Kevin's mechanically inclined so we save alot of money). So, don't feel bad, you've got seating for 7! :) I'm super jealous! Very soon we'll be doing the exact same thing - probably ending up with about the same ride as you :)

HOLY VANNESS! Congratulations! I'm glad you already love it, minus the color. It sort of matches your other car though. I did kind of have a hunch you were going to buy one. ;) I'm so glad you found one within your budget. That's great! Now we can be friends and van buddies! lol
