In church today there were some good speakers. One talked about the need for a person to be active with their faith. Meaning, you don't just believe something, you go out and act on your belief. He quoted someone but I can't really remember it well, but something about reaching the end of the light and stepping out into the darkness, or something like that. It was a good talk.
ETA: Just found the quote- "When you reach the end of light in your life and you find yourself standing before a dark abyss, faith is knowing that when you take the next step there will be something solid to walk on or you will be taught to fly."
