When life gives you lemons...

Throw them at your husband! :P I am so frustrated with him right now, I could just scream. Him and Ebay should have never met. We don't have enough money to buy groceries but he goes out and spends lots of money on Ebay for things we don't need. And then he complains about how stressed out he is about money and how I need to get a job to help out, when we'd be fine if he would sotp spending so much money! I admit I'm not the best at budgeting and I too spend money on things we don't need, but not in the amounts he does! I really don't want to get a job, I hate working and I'd have to do it at night so that my husband would be home to watch the boys. But it feels like it's the only way we'll get ahead. We have too much credit card debt and we have to start paying student loans back next month. We have hospital bills from having the baby that still need paid back too. We've already cut out about $100 in monthly bills and are trying to get rid of our cell phones too, but we still won't have enough. Never enough. It's just depressing. It's like quicksand, the more we fight to keep ahead, the faster we get pulled down.

And I'm so sick of my house being a disaster!!! I'm always picking up toys, crayons, movies, etc but a few hours after I clean you'd never know I'd done anything! And the dishes and laundry never stop piling up. I feel like I'm getting buried in my house. The clutter and mess is closing around me and I feel so overwhelmed by everything. And my baby is so fussy, he just wants to eat or be held all day. I need a break from reality for a while.

*Very quickly runs to Wendys to get Kara a Frosty*

Life as a mother is very hard and most days are very mundane. Having to be a mom and trying to have a job on top of that, can be overwhelming. I think that's fantastic that you've already been able to cut back $100 out of bills. Yay for you!! That's one step in the right direction.

Also, you WANT to do better, so another yay for you and another step in the right direction. The only thing I can suggest is first to pray. Pray that you will know if you need to get a job, pray that you and your husband can really talk about your situation and make even more improvements, and pray that you will be less stressed about what to do.

It's incredibly difficult when one person keeps spending all the money and then turns to you and asks that you help make up the difference. You and dh need to have a really good sitdown and figure this out. One thing that has helped us that we just started doing, is every week we go over our budget/expenses and see where we are and what we've spent money on. It's given us a great perspective on things like food, if we've spent too much one week, we know we don't have as much the next week kind of thing.

I'm sorry if I'm rambling, I'm not here to preach. You are my friend and I just want things to become easier for you and your family. I am here to help anyway I can. I mean that.

Well, definitely looks like I need to get a job. We went over all our expenses with our Bishop and we come up about $500 short every month, just for the essentials. No wonder we've had to use our credit cards so much! So I'm officially looking for a job. We are going to get some help with out food and utilities for a few months, or until I get a job. It's just so stressful. I hate asking for help.

:( I'm sorry things are so hard right now. Maybe if you guys studied One for the Money, or this http://library.lds.org/nxt/gateway.dll/Magazines/Liahona/2000.htm/liahona%20april%202000.htm/guide%20to%20family%20finance.htm?fn=document-frame.htm&f=templates&2.0 You could come up with some good ideas to get you started on the way to making a budget you both can live with.
Wish I had a miracle cure. Hope you win that photo contest!

Have you tried one of those credit counseling places? The first thing they will make you do though is cut your credit cards in half. It sounds like something to look into. Good luck.

There's a really good blog about a woman's attempt to get her family out of debt.
