Another upcoming review

I am so excited to get another opportunity to do a review for CSNStores.com. I have been really happy with their service and selection. They have so many different items, from dinnerware to gardening supplies, and the shipping is pretty fast too. I can't wait to do this review and tell you more about how awesome CSNStores.com is. So make sure to keep an eye out for further review posts! Now I just need to decide what I'd like to review. Maybe something for Hubby's upcoming birthday? Or something for kids going back to school. Or maybe I should splurge and buy something for myself. Decisions, decisions.

It's coming, really

Tomorrow (maybe) I'm going to try to get my CSN review up. I keep meaning to get to it, but this time of year is busy! I was going to today, but the heat has sapped my energy. It's 94* right now. We went to a birthday party and did our grocery shopping and that sun just drains me. So glad to be inside where I can turn on the a/c and lay on the couch. So I'll get my review up really soon, but not today. It's even better than wrinkle cream reviews. I'm really happy with the products and can't wait to share them.

Just 2 more months

In a few months we have a family vacation planned for Bear Lake. I'm so excited. Hubby's work lets the employees use the condos there for 3-4 days (Fri-Mon or Mon-Fri) and we are going the second week of September, when Jason has a school break. I love going. For one, no camping! I don't mind camping for a day or two, but it's a lot of work packing coolers and clothes and tents and all the gear that goes with camping. We don't have a trailer to make things easier, though that means we don't have to worry about things like motor home repairs and sewage and stuff. So this is just perfect. 4 days in a cute little condo (it actually can sleep 14 people so we love inviting family along) that is stocked with movies (new ones at that), games (board, card, and video!), beach toys, condiments, hot chocolate and popcorn. All we have to bring is our food for the stay and clothes (they even have washer/dryer and detergent available so I can get all the clothes clean before heading home and not be bogged down with laundry when we get home). They also have 2 swimming pools and a hot tub in addition to being right by the lake. Oh, and playgrounds and a cute little mini golf course. OH! And the ice cream shop! Seriously, it is awesome. We love going and I'm getting so excited for it.

First checkup

I had my first prenatal appointment yesterday. I was a bit bummed that the office I'm going to doesn't do an early ultrasound, since I've gotten them with all my other kids. I was really looking forward to seeing the little bean. But at least we did get to hear the heartbeat. Sounded nice and perfect. Did all the regular bloodwork and checks and everything is looking good. I was measuring a few weeks bigger than I am already, hopefully that doesn't mean I'll just get bigger this time and have a harder time getting rid of belly fat after baby comes. And they are going to check my blood sugar too to make sure it's ok because my glucose was pretty high. But the midwife and her student that I met with were really nice and overall the appointment went well. My little sister spent the night Thursday so she could watch the boys for me during the appointment. That made it so much easier. It's a pain to take little kids to that kind of appointment.

Hormones make everything worse

Today I am feeling irritated. I'm sure most of it is hormones. Stupid things. Yesterday I was sad and moody, and Hubby was sweet enough to bring home pizza for dinner so I didn't have to make something. Today I just am getting very annoyed at things. Even my sweet Hubby. He's been busy downstairs shredding old papers and things and that's really something he needs supervision on. He shredded some tax documents last night and today I found out he also shredded all of my medical records from my other 3 pregnancies, like the operative reports and checkup information. I was planning to read through them, especially the op report from my last birth, so I got pretty annoyed at him. It lists all the boring stuff like what clamps they used and a bunch of medical terms I don't understand, but there's important info that I just wanted to look over. It's not really that big of a deal, because if I really want to I can get those records again, it's just a pain to do since there's 3 different OBs/Midwives and 2 different hospitals and a lot of places make you pay to get copies. I'm going to ask my last midwife if I'd be able to get a copy of the records I gave her since that will include everything but the last birth record and I may be able to get that from my current midwife.

So so true...

I read this on Skittles' Place and it was just too funny not to repost! :)

Truths For Mature Humans -

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

20. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

21. I would rather try to carry 10 over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

23. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

24. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

25. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

26. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

27. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

28. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

Sometimes paying for extras really is the best deal

One of the best purchasing decisions we have made in regards to furniture is getting the fabric protection warranty for our new sectional. It cost a few extra hundred dollars, but it covers cleaning on the couch for anything like drinks, foods, and bodily fluids. And with 3 little boys we unfortunately have a lot of that last one. So anytime the kids spill something, pee their pants while sitting on the couch, throw up on it, etc we just call up RC Willey and for free somebody comes out and cleans it. It has seriously been so worth the money. Last winter we had a few weeks where they were coming out almost every single day because we had sick kids throwing up all over the place. The cleaning company who does it is also very nice and professional and never seems annoyed to see us frequently. This week we had them come out because Nathan had diarrhea last week and spilled milk all over it and they cleaned the whole thing all nice. So of course 2 days later Jason had to pee his pants while sitting on the nice clean couch. So I called them up again today and they'll probably be out here early next week. So, if you have little kids and are ever offered a fabric protection warranty on new furniture I highly recommend going for it. The only better thing would be to get modern furniture that's all steel and leather and easy to wipe off or hose down lol. But for big comfy couches it is well worth it. An example of how much this has saved us- a few months ago we paid this same company to clean our other two couches that are not under warranty. Last year our cats went through a phase of peeing on them when they were in heat (the main motivation to get them fixed when we did!) and no matter what we did to clean them we couldn't get the smell all out. So we had them deep cleaned. It cost $200 for them to clean those 2 couches (a regular cleaning probably would have been half the price, but they needed more). Now considering our sectional is much bigger and that we've used them probably 20 times in the last year and it's a 7 year warranty, it has definitely been a better deal to pay the few hundred dollars for the warranty and be able to get them cleaned whenever needed!

Cute little stinker

Alrighty, I am all caught up on pictures. Of course there's a bazillion more I didn't post because I have so many, but those are the main points. Ooh, except this cute one of Nathan playing with the iPod.

This kid is pretty smart! There's a little spelling game and even though he has no idea what letters and words are, he's figured out how to move the letters to the right boxes. He loves electronics. He's frequently climbing on my chair and turning off the laptop when I leave it unattended. He also loves to push the buttons on the VCR (yes, we still have one of those old things lol), DVD player, and Wii to make the videos/games come out. He likes to climb things like tables, chairs, tv stands, and anything else to reach whatever he wants to get to, like the buttons on the TV. He's such a cute little stinker. :) Seriously, how do you get mad at an adorable face like that?

Fireworks, take 2

Here's the pictures from fireworks at home the night of the 4th. We only did some and saved the rest for the 24th (state holiday here in UT that we do fireworks for as well). I do always worry about doing them at home. In Idaho our house was at the end of a cul de sac and we could do the fireworks out the in the middle of the road, but here we are by a busy road so we do it on our back patio and I worry about catching something on fire. Especially with those ones that are called blooming flowers or something and kind of jump around, those scare me. I'd feel better if we lived in steel buildings instead of wood lol. I bet firemen hate the 4th.

Started off the fun with Snaps, Pop-its, or whatever they are called. The boys really liked them, especially Nathan. He was laughing like crazy watching the boys throw them.

I wear my sunglasses at night!

Poor Sam was terrified and tried hiding under his cushion
Finished off the night with...sparklers!

The man behind the magic

Of course I didn't get any good pictures of the actual fireworks we did because they just don't turn out right. But it was lots of fun and I like this fun time with just our little family.

Water + Electronics = Not Good

So today Jakey tried to destroy our iPod Touch. Oh, did I ever mention we got that? It's awesome! I love it. And the kids love it. Even Nathan has learned how to go to the kid games and play them.

Anyway, so Jakey decided that the iPod needed to be washed. Yikes! I thought he was washing his hands, but I turned around and noticed he had the iPod under the running water. I yelled, "Jakey, no!" and he told me it needed cleaned. I ran over and grabbed it away and hurried and dried it off as much as possible but the screen wasn't working right. I could still see it but barely, it was very dim. I shut it off and stuck it in a bag of rice to hopefully suck out the moisture. Hubby just tried it and it seems to be ok now, though I'm going to leave it in the rice for another day just to make sure it's all dry.

I've heard there is iphone 4 insurance; I wonder if they have that for the iPod Touch. I didn't get too mad at Jakey because he didn't know better and he was just trying to clean it, but I'll definitely be watching the kids more carefully when they are playing it!

Enough for tonight

Ugh, I was going to try to finish up the last of the pics, the actual night of the 4th we did a few fireworks and sparklers at home. But my tummy doesn't think that's a good idea. Feeling pretty yucky so I better go eat something and lay down. But I will be all finished with the picture posts tomorrow. Until the next time I get behind lol.

Fireworks

By the time it was starting to get dark we were getting tired of being at the park and debating whether we should just head home. But we didn't want to deprive the kids of seeing the fireworks we'd been talking up all week. And I'm happy we stayed because I love seeing my kids faces as they watch the fireworks. Jakey always keeps his ears covered, Nathan was just in awe, and Jason really enjoys them.

I always try to get pictures of the actual fireworks and I always fail. I just have no clue what setting my camera should be in to actually get them to show up clear and pretty.
One of Hubby's cousins got married that night. We had debated going ever since the wedding invitations went out, but we decided that we didn't want to spend the whole day driving (it was 4 hrs away) and miss the fireworks and time at the park. I bet it was cool for them to top of their wedding night with real fireworks though lol.

Family time

I love getting together with my family. We talk and laugh a lot, and there's lots of helpful aunts and uncles who adore the little kids and help keep an eye on them. Plus, lots of food! Always a plus when you are constantly hungry, like me. My mom made the yummiest pulled pork for sandwiches, and we had pasta salads, fruit salad, homemade root beer (yum!), desserts, chips, soda, etc. Add all that sugar to the hormones making my face break out and I'm going to need some pronexin. Here's us hanging out at the top of the hill with all our yummy food.

The boys loved sitting at the bottom of the hill where this net was set up and just watching people play soccer and stuff. They were sad when the nets were taken down.

Ice-blocking

OK, I have a bunch of pictures from the 4th of July so I'm going to split them up so I don't make one super long post lol. First up- ice blocking! What, you've never heard of it? It's like sledding but without the sled. Or the snow. Or all the gear. So, um not really like sledding, except you go downhill and your butt gets frozen lol. This has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. At the park we go to for the 4th there is a big hill in the middle. We always try to grab a spot right at the top of the hill. Great view, not so fun having to go up and down a million times lol. I've heard the hcg diet works, but it's got nothing on lugging kids, coolers, chairs, and heavy blocks of ice up and down that hill all day! Especially for preggo woman who has to use the bathroom frequently.

Anyway, back to the ice blocking! So you get the bags of ice blocks from the convenience store and a towel and you are set to go. Just fold up the towel to provide a dry seat for yourself (until the ice melts through it and you are sitting on a frozen wet towel) and then try to stay on while flying down the hill. I didn't go this year because 1) I'm preggo and didn't want to risk hurting myself, and 2) I'm a wimp lol.

If you've never tried ice-blocking before you really should, if only to laugh when people fall off and roll the rest of the way down the hill. :)

Patriotic Parade

Let's see where I left off. Looks like next up was the Primary Patriotic Parade at the church. The kids all decorate their bikes, scooters, etc and then ride around the block. It's really cute and the boys were looking forward to it for weeks. I stayed back at the church helping get food and stuff set up, because they do lunch and stuff after. My mother-in-law, her daughter, and a friend were there for the day so they joined Hubby and the kids on the ride and took pictures for me. I didn't realize the camera lense had a smudge on it until after though, so there's a bit of a blur on most of the pics.

They also got to break pinatas and decorate cupcakes after. So they had plenty of sugar (especially since we went straight to a birthday party after where they had cake, ice cream, and a goody bag of candy lol). They even get a police escort (so there's no need for a Texas Truck accident lawyer) that stopped traffic at the intersection for them to cross. The boys loved it and had a great time.

Bedtime

That is going to be all for tonight, but don't worry more pictures will be going up tomorrow. I still have the 4th of July to get to of course. One of these days I will just learn to post pictures as soon as they are taken, but probably not anytime soon lol. I need to make myself to do lists. I've got things to do to prepare for the baby (well not really too much, I've never sent out baby announcements and have most of the gear, and if it's a boy I really need nothing), house to take care of, and remembering to eat every two hours lol. My to do list would look like this- do dishes, eat, put laundry in, eat, take laundry out, eat, sweep floor, eat, vacuum, etc. :D

Lagoon

Alrighty, I may have a lot of pics in this one. Last month we had Hubby's company day at Lagoon (local theme park). It was a ton of fun, but I'm kind of glad we only go once a year because it is exhausting! The boys had a great time and let me tell you, walking around the park for 10 hours is a lot of exercise. None of the best weight loss pills needed. My poor little toes had blisters by the time we limped back to the car. I'm sure most of these pics will just be the boys, as usual lol. Of course I couldn't ride most of the rides, again. That's 3 years in a row! Last year it was too cold and rainy so a lot of rides were shut down, and the year before I was also pregnant. Hopefully next year I'll be able to do more. :)

Bumper cars! The boys' favorite

There were hundreds of pictures, but I don't want to bore you all to death. :D It really was so much fun.

Deja vu

Arg, I just realized I did already post the pictures from the park, and Jakey's birthday party. I was about to put up some more park pics. Oh well, less that I have to go through. Just going to leave that last post up anyway, cuz the pics are still cute lol. I'm a totally lame blogger if I can't even remember what I've already posted! Good thing I don't spend money on seo chicago marketing for my blog cuz nobody would care about reading it anyway lol. K, I do have more pictures though, so gonna go see what's next.

Trip to the park

We took a nice long walk to a park down the street instead of the playground at the school right across the street. I wanted to get some exercise in and it was a beautiful day. The boys had fun and the dog was happy to get out of the yard and bark at everybody.

No pictures of me, sorry. Not because I needed the best acne treatment this time, cuz I didn't, I'm just usually behind the camera. There is one, but I'm sitting in a swing (didn't those things used to be bigger?!) looking like a dork.
