Easter

We had a wonderful Easter dinner at my house with my family the Friday before Easter. It was crowded but so much fun, and I actually managed to fit everyone in the kitchen by making a makeshift extra table with my piano stand and a board, bringing in the office chairs, piano bench and a low table for extra seating, and sitting my 3 boys at their little Cars table. I believe we had 17 people in the kitchen lol. The dinner was yummy and then we spent a few hours playing games, watching TV, and chatting. My inlaws showed up some time after dinner (good thing we made plenty of food!) and joined the fun. Unfortunately I didn't get pics except this one of the boys at their table:

Then on Saturday my sister's family came over to dye eggs and do an egg hunt with the kids. We had to do the hunt inside cuz it was cold and snowy outside.

Easter morning we hid the boys baskets in a bedroom and had them find their basket. Obviously Nathan's wasn't really hidden lol. Grandma Cindy brought a few more presents from the Easter Bunny, a cute outfit and toy car each.

Grandma Meg came over later and the boys had a blast playing with her netbook, perfect size for little kids lol.

Oops, guess I forgot to rotate a few pics, oh well. :D We had a great Easter. The boys (and me) ate way too much candy but it was still a lot of fun.

Holy cow, I just noticed that Jason and Jakey wore the same clothes for almost 3 days, oops! Obviously with that busy weekend I kind of forgot to make them change until they got their new outfits Sunday morning. Bad mommy moment :P

March Pictures

Again, there are only a few pictures from March. I finally broke down and bought a set of hair clippers so I could buzz the boys' hair myself. I did it a little too short the first time, but with how fast their hair grows it wasn't short for long. Jacob's is still ok, but Jason and Nathan almost need another trim, it's like they take protein powders for hair growth instead of muscles. Jason was fine while I did his, but Jakey and Nathan cried the whole time.

Isn't that an adorable pic of Nathan trying to play Wii with the other boys? There wasn't even a remote in the wheel but he loves it. We also had a few nice days that the boys were able to go outside and play. Sam was very happy to have someone come out and keep him company. Now that he's solely an outside dog he gets kind of lonely, but he's been much happier since the weather warmed up and we are out there more.

Random February Pics

Well, I was hoping I had more pictures to share for February, but guess not. There are a bazillion pics from before/after we redid the carpet/tile, but not a lot of the kids. There's an adorable pic of Jason and Jacob flexing their muscles, but since Jakey is just in his underwear I'm not putting it up.

You can kind of see how bad Nathan's eczema was on his cheeks too. Luckily it's looking a lot better right now. He loves pulling out that drawer and climbing in it, silly boy. He's getting so big, way too fast. Which means I must be getting older too lol. One day I'll wake up and they'll be all grown up. So I try to enjoy them as much as possible while they are little and adorable.

Valentine's Day

These are the only pictures I have from Valentine's Day. Jason and Jakey had a little party at preschool and these are their cute little Valentine holders full of notes and candies. They had a fun time, though my hand hurt after writing their names on 40 Valentines (20 each) lol. Nate gave me a cute bouquet and some chocolate. And we went out to dinner too. I ate way too much candy, like always. Good thing we started the health challenge at Nate's work soon after. I'm telling you, drinking 8 cups of water a day works as well as a colon cleanse lol. Of course Easter was right around the corner and I ate too much then too, but at least the holidays are further apart at the beginning of the year as opposed to the end.

More pics coming soon

I really need to be better about posting pictures instead of doing a big upload every few months. I think the last time I did was in January. Part of the reason is that I just haven't been taking as many pictures lately. Around the holidays it's easy to take lots of pictures but the rest of the year I don't take a whole lot. So I do have a bunch of Easter pics, but I'm not sure if I have much other than that. I'm going to take a look through and try to get some up today.

Time

Fro some reason I have felt like this week has just zoomed by. I don't think I've been any busier than normal, in fact I normally have at least 2-3 extra places to be during the week but this week I haven't had any. Not sure why it's felt so busy then. Tomorrow I do get to go to Jason's kindergarten orientation. I can't believe in a few months he'll be entering real school! Some days I don't even feel old enough to have 3 kids, let alone one old enough to be in school. And judging by the teenager-like complexion I have (seriously, would blue acne light treatments help?!) my body doesn't seem to think I'm that old lol. But, speaking of old, my back is killing me so I better head to bed. I need to do some cleaning, laundry, and stuff tomorrow cuz I put it off today to read Fablehaven book 5 lol. Good book but my house has suffered for it.

Easter with the family

Last night we had most of my family come over for Easter dinner and it was so fun! I made ham, cheesy potatoes, rolls, salad, and cobbler. My mom brought her yummy potato salad, my sister's family brought a delicious fruit salad, and my brother and sil brought the drinks and cups. We barely had enough room in the kitchen with everyone who came, and that was only because I rigged up an extra table with the piano stand and a board and brought in the piano bench, a low table, and the desk chairs for extra seating. Crowded but fun. Then we played games and my inlaws showed up for the weekend so even more people. Great times. After eating so much, especially the yummy cobblers I made, I feel like I need to join a weight loss program to get back on track. I haven't been eating as much fruits and veggies and haven't been drinking my 64oz of water each day. Plus the late nights and busy days and I'm tired! But it's worth it. I love spending time with our families and playing games and sitting around eating and talking. I love that we have a house big enough for entertaining too. It's nice to be able to invite everyone over.

Tomorrow we will be giving the boys their Easter baskets, which won't really have a lot since we've all had more than enough candy already. Then we are going to just relax and enjoy our Sunday watching conference. I'm going to make french toast for breakfast with my homemade french bread, and dinner will be easy bbq ribs in the crockpot. I still need to clean up in the kitchen from the last few days, but it shouldn't be too hard cuz at least I got 2 loads of dishes done today.

No ads

One of my favorite Firefox add-ons is adblock plus. That add-on filters out all of the ads on the pages as they load, so they load faster and I don't have to see all the ads for get rich quick schemes, hemorrhoids relief, or the next miracle drug. Even on Facebook I don't have to see all the ads on the side of the page. The last time we reformatted our computer I'd forgotten about it and was surprised when I was suddenly seeing ads again. Good thing it is easy to get back.

No self control

I still haven't been exercising for Hubby's work's body fat loss contest. This last week went by so so fast and the last few days especially have been packed. Hopefully things this week will be a little slower so I can get a workout in a few of the days. Otherwise I'll have to use fast weight loss pills if I want to see any results. Just kidding. I don't need to lose weight, just want a bit more muscle and a bit less fat which I can really only do by working out. And not pigging out on Easter candy and delicious ham and potatoes. I really have no self control around holidays lol.

Love my cute nephew

One of my sister's came over today and spent most of the day. We dyed eggs and the kids had an Easter egg hunt. It was so fun. Of course I now have 3 dozen eggs I need to find a use for. I'm going to make some deviled eggs, and egg salad sandwiches are good. I sent some home with my sister too. I also played cards with my sister for a few hours. We played Nertz and I won. Her baby boy is just 6 months younger than my Nathan so it's nice to have a cousin close to his age to play with. He's just starting to walk and he is the cutest little chubby baby. It's like there's human growth hormone in her milk. My kids grow so slow and never get that chubby, so it's fun to get to kiss his squishy cheeks and tickle his rolly thighs. And he is such a happy baby too. And very photogenic. It's fun having a cute baby nephew to play with. Hopefully him and Nathan grow up to be good friends.

My yucky face

Ugh, I was really hoping my acne would clear up before we get pregnant again because I know it will get even worse when I am pregnant. (And NO, I am NOT currently pregnant lol). I'm just really annoyed at my face. It seems like even when I use acne treatments it doesn't do anything to help. I haven't looked into any of the prescription or special treatments like epiduo yet, but maybe with the weather warming up soon that will help. I've even been drinking a lot more water recently which I heard helps your skin be clear, but haven't noticed any difference except in how often I need to use the restroom.

Can we build it?

Recently I've been spending a lot of time checking out the blog knockoffwood. Wow, I love it! The lady who runs the site is a carpenter who provides plans for furniture that is knock offs of name brand stuff. It looks so cool and doable. A friend of mine built a kitchen table using ideas from there. I've got a list of stuff I'd like to build now including a table, a picnic table since we have no outdoor furniture, a storage play table thing for the boys playroom, and some cute little kid chairs. I even have a bunch of tools here from my dad. The only problem is I don't have any wood. So I really want to slowly get some of that stuff built once I get some wood. I've always loved putting stuff together and I took shop class in Jr High and loved it. If I do ever make some of that stuff I will definitely be posting some pics.

Moved Out

My brother was living with us for the last two months. He moved out a couple of days ago. When he moved out, he didn't take the bed that he was using. We now have an extra bed in our home. Come to think of it, we have 4 queen size mattresses in our home. It's a good thing we haven't had to buy mattresses a lot. We actually have only bought 1 of the mattresses in our house. Count your many blessing when you haven't had to buy the majority of the beds in your house.

SK8R GRL

So last night we went roller skating with some friend's families and had so much fun! I hadn't been skating in probably more than 10 years, and Hubby the same. We had never taken the boys. And of course I forgot the camera! Grr. Anyway, the boys had a lot of fun, even little Nathan loved it when I strapped on the too-big child skates and walked around the rink with him. He cried every time I tried to leave the rink. Of course there is always the inevitable fall-on-your-butt-and-embarrass-yourself moment. Mine happened to be when I was holding Nathan (note to self- never hold a child while wearing roller skates). Nathan was fine, I kept a good hold on him and he didn't get hurt. At least it was on the carpet, not the rink, but I fell on my butt pretty hard, also hurting my wrist and elbow trying to catch myself. My wrist is achey, I have a bruise on my elbow, and my rear end is still sore. Wouldn't have hurt so bad if my cell phone hadn't been in my back pocket, ouch! We also ate some pretty yummy pizza there. Afterward I sent Hubby home with the boys cuz they were tired and I went to my friend's house to hang out and play games and cuddle her adorable baby girl. I was out way too late, and had to stop at WalMart on the way home (and then go back to WalMart after I got home because I'd left a bag of groceries at the checkout, doh!) so I didn't get to bed until 12:30am, but it was a really fun day.

April Fools!

So, Mother Nature thought it would be funny to pull a joke on us today. Instead of Spring, it gave us Winter! I haven't gone out to measure, but I think it's at least 4 inches. This was the view out my front window this morning:
Good thing I haven't planted my garden yet! And the snow is still coming down. Too bad I won't be sitting home baking bread today. Got things to do, places to go, people to see. It would be a perfect day to sit home in PJs, sipping hot cocoa, playing on the Wii instead of foosball tables we don't have, and enjoying the smell of goodies baking. Instead we are going to a potluck lunch at the church, then later we are going roller skating with some friends (indoor rink obviously!), and my brother is moving out today so I'll do what I can to help.

OK, so my calculations were way off. I just went out and measured and we have 7 INCHES people! WHY?! It better melt soon, I want to get my garden going!
